Question about Nokia 5300 Grey Cellular Phone
Hey Guys hope you can assist, I have the Nokia 5300 x-press music, I went to change the front and rear cover on the phone as the old one had marks, as I changed the cover there is a small gold looking little resistor thing and also a black small rubber rubber that goes on top of it (THIS IS ON THE FRONT COVER OF THE PHONE)I changed these and put them on the new cover as well, now all of a sudden I cannot be heard if I call someone , I can hear the person on the other end but they cannot hear me, I have tried making a call without any of the covers on and it is the same thing, so I am not to sure what I have done, please help if you can.
Aol videos has a repair solution for the microphone,,,,thier is a small connector on the faceplate itself that you need to take off and put on the new faceplate.it is where the mic is located,it looks like a small black rubber with two brass pins in it..good luck!

Well, i just discover the same problem when i got a new cover for my 5300. I fixed it by carefully taking off the mic out of my old cover. Take a toothpick and poke it through the front hole of the cover and it should pop right out. be careful to not touch the coils or it is ruined. Then put it in your new cover and it should work. I hope this helps out cause it cost $15 for a rubber mic.

Okay. I just turned off my phone for 30 minutes, turned it back on, and now the sound is fine. Could the microphone be sensitive to cold weather? I hope this isn't a glitch with the 5300. So far this is the only place on the Web where I've heard of this problem with this phone.

You´ve messed up the microphone, I have no other solution for you than getting the phone repaired be a pro. DIY-repairs sometimes go wrong.
Take it to your nearest Nokia Service-Center and have them take a look at it.

For the microphone buy a microphone 5300 nokia on ebay for 1.99 and replace it sits next to the keyboard on the underside of the front cover. for the charging problem buy a damaged 5300 and change the back mother board two screws and two clips and a ribbon to remove.

Ughh my 5300 is tore up. It has microphone problems and now randomly shuts off and I have to remove the back cover and take out the battery and put it back in for it to turn on. All the settings have magically restored themselves and I lost all my pictures. this phone stinks

One of my old phones had the same problem where I could hear the other person talking but they couldn't hear me. To fix it, I also had to shut my phone off for awhile and then turn it back on so it's not just with the Nokia 5200, which I now have.

Make sure you didn't loose the two little coil springs that came off with the outside cover. They are suppose to be in the two little holes. That is what makes the connection in the microphone.
