That means your operating system in unstable. First of all you need to identify what operating system you are using for example Windows 7 or 8 or XP. Then Get a CD for that operating system. Boot from the Operating system CD and select Repair so that the machine can be repaired. During the repair process your machine will restart a couple of times so do not freak out it will be okay. But if it does not work after repair, then you will have to consider what we call wipe and reload. In wipe and reload, we only save all your data and reformat and reconfigure your computer to its factory settings

My hp computer shuts off when i turn it on and it starts loading?

ur computer cant start bcoz ur boot information or file might be corrupted or the windows is unable to find any necessary drivers.
Try to start ur pc in safemode
u can do this by pressing F8 before ur boot screen appears and then scan ur computer with an antivirus or restore ur windows backup.
if this doesnt help then u hv to format ur operating system.

Unable to boot

If your notebook uses an AMD processor, what has happened is the notebook has now installed system pack 3. It has a bug which causes this problem.

If you have an AMD and updated to SP3, then follow these instructions to fix your problem:

Hp pavilion dv2500 won't boot. I can see some leds turn on but there's nothing on screen and no hard disk activity at all. What could be the problem?

itz may b caused frm many internal hardware cause, like the battery(main/cmos); ram; sm section of the system board; ccfl; inverter circuit; or even the lcd....

howevr, before proceeding to complex test to verify the current status of ur laptop, at 1st all u need is to put on the laptop to charge for atleast 4hrs..(the gauge status may show u a pseudo process)..
if u r a professional, remove the ram(s) from itz slot(s), gently rub itz connector teeth using a rubber to remove carbon or oxide formed if any..
connect it to a external monitor n see if display is coming..
check the internal system battery to b above +3v..

so itz always better to hv supervision..frm ur system admin/vendor/good or authorized service center....

howevr, hv a glance ovr the software strength..look for startup items (the programs loaded during startup)..download n install n run 'Statup Control Panel'..
http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,7976-order,4-c,desktop/description.html
and microsoft kb890830..remove the unnecessary boot item(s) or do post me a complete list of startup item that the Startup CPL is showing (in itz every tab), i'll guide u..
also u may use 'Advanced System Care Pro' to fix all at a time..
always better to get supervision frm ur system admin/vendor....

Hp pavilion sleep mode

OK this is my solution we have discussed this a bit so I have come up with this -

1. Boot in safe mode if unable go into BIOS and restore factory defaults

2. Boot in safe mode by repeatedly tapping the F8 key (once every second or so)

Remember: Keep tapping it all the way up to the windows load screen

3. Once the prompt comes up hit Safe Mode

4. Once loaded in safe mode Go to Control Panel > Power Options

5. Switch everything to never - I always do this as it annoys me anyway

6. Reboot normally

If this doesnt work give me another messege I will be happy to work on this with you until we solve it
