To use one-variable statistics the simple way, go into the Data Editor and enter your data into a column. Press F5 to calculate. Select 1-var stats. I believe you've got this much of it. Then, in the first box, enter the name from the header of the column you entered the data into. For "Use Freq and Categories?" select NO.

When you press ENTER, you should see a screen with the one-variable statistics.

To get the standard deviation the easier way, simply put the data into a llist and then use the stdDev function (or the stdDevPop function for the population standard deviation) function on it. For example:

stdDev({1,2,3}) gives 1.

Error stat

Are the data in L1 and l2 in any way related? If they are (being x-values and y-values of some data set) then you need to do regression analysis (2-var stats)
If they are not related (connected) you can calculate the mean of each group separately.
Do 1-var stat by specifying the L1 list first (may be the default), get your average of the values in L1. Then you can do 1-var stat on the data in L2 by specifying the list L2 on the command line.
1-var L2 ENTER
Note: What I am describing here is valid for the TI 83 Plus/TI84 Plus, but I suspect the steps are similar to the TI 82.

Multiple operations in single command on new TI84

Run SetUpEditor to restore the list names L1, to L6
100->dim(L1) to set the dimension of L1 to 100
100->dim(L2) to set the dimension of L2 to 100.
Since you are going to store the random numbers in L1, you should use L2 as the FreqList. All elements of L2 should be 1. When you create it all its elements are 0. One way to fill it with 1's is 10 run the command

L2+1>L2; Add 1 to each number and store the results in L2 (overwrite the 0 values)
Perform a blank run of 1-var Stats to get the chance to set the default lists.
1-var Stats L1, L2 ENTER
Type in your command
randNorm(64.5,2.5,100) STO> L1:1-var Stats L1, L2 ENTER.

Use the Catalog to type in the 1-var Stats commnad so that you can type in the Lists L1 and L2 without opening the 1-var Stats configuration screen.
Do what you have to do with the statistics you generated.
To rerun the two commands again, press [2nd][ MODE] to (QUIT)
or press the sequence [2nd][ENTER] to have the last (ENTRY) echo on the main screen. Press ENTER to run again
randNorm(64.5,2.5,100) STO> L1:1-var Stats L1, L2 ENTER.

Hoe it helps.

How do you find the standard deviation using the list function when you place values in two lists? (Casio fx-9750GII)

It depends what the two list mean.
If you are doing 1-var statistics you may want to enter the frequency of a data element (if some are repeated) in the list L2.
In that case when you run the CALC 1-Var , you first press the F6 key to set the lists Data List1, and Frequency List 2.
Once you set the lists, press the F1 key to select 1-var. The calculator will give all the statistics of the distribution.

If you are doing 2-var stats SET the lists and press F2 2-var. The calculator will give you the x-statistics, followed by the y-statistics.

How do I compute population standard deviation on the TI 84 plus?

Put the data into a list using whatever scheme you prefer. Press STAT right-arrow to bring up the STAT CALC menu. Select "1-Var Stats" and specify the list containing the data. You'll get a screen showing the various statistical values. The population standard deviation is designated by a lowercase sigma.

Can you please help me on how to calculate mean, median, mode, standard deviation calculation on casio fx-991ms scientific calculator

This will show you how to do statistics (calculate average, standard deviation, regressions etc.) as to the mode and median refer to the definitions.

TO COMPUTE STANDARD DEVIATION AND 2-VAR STATISTICS.

I assume you know the theory. I will show you the key strokes

For 1-Var statistics
Press [MODE][3:STAT] [1:1-VAR]. You are ready to enter values in the X column.
Enter a number and press [=]. Cursor jumps to second number to enter.
Keep entering numbers and pressing [=] till all numbers are in. Press the [=] key after the last one.
Press [AC] key to clear the screen.
Press [SHIFT] [STAT] (above digit 1.) then [5:Var]. Screen displays the statistical variables 1:n ;2: x bar; 3: x sigma n; 4:x sigma n-1.
Press the number corresponding to the statistical value you want, ex 1:n . The variable appears on screen. Press [=] and it will be displayed.
To display another variable press [SHIFT][STAT][5:Var][ 1,2, 3, or 4] .

To access the sum of squares sigma x^2 and the sum of data sigma x press[SHIFT][STAT][4:SUM] then [1: for sigma x^2] or [2: for sigma x]. Press [SHIFT][STAT][6:MinMax] to access minX and maxX.

For 2-var statistics
To perform 2 variable statistics you press [MODE][3:STAT] and any of the other regression options (except 1:1-Var). A two column template opens where you enter the X and Y values. When finished entering data, press [SHIFT][STAT][5:Var]. to access the different statistics. As I assumed above, you should be able to recognize what each variable means.

I'm using the TI-30X IIS calculalator and cannot calculate the standard deviation. Please help! Thank you!

Press 2nd [STAT] then select CLRDATA to clear statistics data. Select 1-VAR or 2-VAR for one-variable or two-variable statistics. Press DATA and enter your data (x for 1-VAR or x and y for 2-VAR). Press 2nd [EXIT-STAT] and select N. Press STAT-VAR to see a menu of statistics variables and their values. Sx (and Sy) will give you the standard deviation, sigma-x (and sigma-y) will give you the population standard deviation.
