My Shuttle XPC SN85G4 is dead. When I connect the power cord, the green light from motherboard turn on, which means there is power. When I turn on the XPC, it just for less than 1 sec and turn off. I can see that fan starts to work and stop and the green ligh from motherboard turn off. If I disconect the power cord and connect again, the green ligh is on again, but the XPC do not start to work. I already dismount the XPC, removed the processor, rset the CMOS, removed memory, video card, clean everything but the problem persist. Does anyone has an idea or sugestion. Thanks

I have an SN95G5 that did the same thing...Never a problem and then wouldn't start. Solution was to take cover off and blow hot air from a hair dryer to the entire inside of box. I haven't pin pointed what needs to be heated, but it fires up after I do this for about 3-5mins.

My Integrated ethernet not recognized by windows 7 after fresh install. I have a Shuttle XPC SN85G4 version 3 Barebone System

Hello,

Even though your system was built around the AMD 64-bit processor, the componets are still 32-bit hardware. Windows 7 is a 64-bit based os. You can perform a windows update to try to download the latest drivers for your system. Also, visit Shuttle support website for more information about Window 7 drivers.

Worst case scenero, reinstall Windows XP/Vista.

Good Luck

Realtek 8201BL chipset is the network drivers you will need. You should be able to find this online. When you do download the drivers, be sure to download the 64 bit drivers for your systems or you will run into further problems.

New psu for Shuttle XPC SB81P won't work!

Try these:

Remove the PSU from the case.
Plug it to power.
Turn it on
Using a paper clip, short circuit the green wire pin with the the black wire pin on the 24 pins connector.
If the PSU fan start, remove the clip. The fan should keep spinning. That means that the PSU is working.

If the PSU is working, then the power up pins on the mother board might not be shortcircuited by the front panel switch.

Connect the PSU to the motherboard and to the power, turn it on. On the motherboard, locate the power up pins and short circuit them with the paper clip. If the computer powers up then there is a problem with the power on switch.

If the PSU does not start at all, return it.
If you can't return it, unplug from power, open it (warrenty voids!) and look for a fuse that looks like a one inch glass tube with metal caps. inside should be a wire. If the wire is broken, buy a new fuse in Radio Shack.

Hope that helps.

check if the cables that connect the front USB to the motherboard are connected properly. They might just have gone loose.

Shuttle XPC XB51G Barebones - no power

I think you will find your PSU has gone faulty, they are very cheap these days, I would guess at the PSU and replace it "On Spec" with a similar one. Remove the four PSU screws around by the Fan at back. Unplug it from The motherboard noting connections, can only go one way thogh. Take the PSU to ya local repair shop and get another... put new one in connect up to MB and power up. If ya lucky.. ya solved ya problem. Or better still see if you can test it with another one B4 buying another.
