Sorry my friend but I had this problem. You definately have to get a repairman out to fix it. The AC voltage regulator has gone bad. Good news is it will cost about 225 bucks to fix which is ALOT better than buying a new TV.

Have a Sony KP-65WV600, already replaced d board once, and replaced convergence ic's once also. Now as soon as I turn unit on, turns to red screen and shuts off, video that is, audio works ok, noticed...

Check High voltage Block. After replacing ic's (STK convergence ic's) you need to adjust Black&White scale.Turn ALL screen adjustments to min.Turn TV on and adjust screen slowly for each gun (I would start with Red first ) when you came to point that you see red background with white lines across, at that point G2 is too high (that will cause TV to shut down, don't worry just lowered adjustment and turn tv back on) so adjust to proper voltage and do the same for each gun. After that, adjust focus for each gun (again all controls are on High Voltage Block and HVB is mounted on front of your tv after you take speaker gril out) black box with 6 controls' screen RGB, focus RGB .
You should do that in dark room in order to get perfect Black&White scale, when all guns are adjusted properly you will see grey picture.Make sure 'Color" adjustment on your display is down to 0. Another step is convergence adjustment ,Flash Focus etc.If TV stil shuts off after all, your Red picture tube is short inside, take crt pcb from tube, make sure TV is unpluged from power before that, and turn Tv on .If stays On tube need replacment...good luck)

We changed the coolant fluids in the blue and green and now the screen is clear in the middle and blurry on sides and color is off on sides also??

You are going to have to Realine the Convergence and set Focus to each Tube on the Screen/Focus block Control.Their is 3 on Top Focus and 3 controls under them for screen drive R/G/B.
You will need to know how to Enter Service Menu:
Do you still have manual that came with TV?

I have a 57h94 projection tv light comes can hear power but ni picture

High voltage problem on deflection board, you can try turning up the screen voltage on the focus block which is only a temporary fix. Eventually you will need to get a service center to repair the deflection board...... focus block is in the front of the TV you will have to remove the front cover bezel...

Need to purchase a SCREEN FOCUS BLOCK. Where could I buy it.

Hi, this will probably **** you off but here goes anyway, That part can be purchased from on line parts places but my advice to you is "leave it to a tv tech". The part will NOT come adjusted to your tv, it has to be wired in correctly or you WILL damage your tv big time, once installed the set has to be turned on and all 6 controls WILL have to be adjusted, your dealing with a high voltage device and it can kill you if you handle it incorrectly once powered on, in other words you will probably never get it adjusted right and it`s dangerous to do by a non tech, just trying to help you out here, video-tek

My amigo , your monitor is most likely gettin old , Operating systems and video cards do not blur monitors unless you ordered them to do so , I'm a fully qualified monitor technition this stuff happens all the time , basicaly it's the focus block of the monitor , if it's not serious you're lookin at a few bucks to have it worked on , if more serious expect to pay more ,

and if you are me , you put on your ground protection and you open that monitor up and adjust the focus block on the flyback transformer , as CRTs age a bit the focus block needs adjustment , I can also tell you that if you plan on doing it , READ any and all documentation on how to adjust a focus block before you do it , and wear ground protection ( or if you're not scared to die like me , just use your plastic screw driver on the focus block and adjust the little dumpling. it's not rocket science in this particular situation just a focus block adjustment , and if that fails , it's time to chunk it , because more than likely it's about to totaly fail.. and easyer to buy a new one..

focus fuzzyness is a sign of bad things ahead ( 50% of the time. )

Again , if a simple focus block adjustment doesn't do the trick , I'd just chunk it and get another one
unless you're a hardware monkey like me who went to electronics school ...

And above all wear ground protection ...

I'm not responsible for accidental injury or death from following my advice on this , just trying to save your monitor.

as for a solve on this , it's a matter of your willingness to adjust the focus block which is on the flyback transformer , scary and dangerous not recommended for those who haven't made their peace with Elohim and are clumbsy lol

I hope this still gets counted as a solve

OK to help assist everyone having the BLUE HUE and CURVED LINES Issue on their Rear Projection HDTV no matter their model. Here are the steps to take. The first thing to check is the FOCUS BLOCK or G2 Focus Transformer or CRX F-Pack. I have replaced mine, however it didn't resolve the issue. I am onto the next item the CRT Board for Blue (Which is the board under one of the three color lamps inside your tv) Please see photo below (if photo is not large enough below go to link to review notes as well) If the CRT Board is not it, then the next step will be the Signal Board which is a larger board in the back. In a week I will have a picture of both.

  1. Remove the outside cover
  2. Remove the wood plank/panel
  3. In the front is the G2 Focus Block/Transformer, while set is on turn the top 3 knobs till the screen goes black/dark grey.
  4. adjusting the colors till you receive the desired or normal color/picture.
  5. Once you have received the proper color/picture tap the side of the Focus Block.
  6. IF The colors go out of wack again and the blue comes back strong then this "CAN BE" the Focus Block.

Replace the G2 Focus Block aka Focus Transformer, if Hitachi it's called a CRX F-Pack. This item will cost about $50. Not expensive. You will likely need a soldiering iron. DO TURN OFF & UNPLUG THE TV WHEN INSERTING ANY METAL OBJECTS INTO THE TV!!

FOLLOW THE PHOTOS/DIAGRAM in link below for assistance in the above instructions. I will post my next process since it was not my Focus Block that was an issue.

ONE SOLID PHOTO Go to URL CLICK HERE, click on that image to enlarge. Hope this helps you all out!

Focus/Screen block bad

This part is called the Focus Block and has 6 controls, 3 for focus and 3 for screen. The screen is the overall brightness of the CRT and the focus is the sharpness. The part can be ordered by description from any RCA parts distributor but the controls should be set by someone with experience.

Red block in the middle

hi You have dry joints. Whack it hard on the side next time it starts going nuts and see if it comes back. That's always a good diagnostic tool for the pros. If it does, you have in intermittent connection that will deteriorate over time. If not, you could just have a bad convergence amp good luck
