My HP Pavilion DV5000t 1.6GHz Core DUO Centrino Was on and suddenly went out, when I press the power button just blinks the battery icon two or three times. What could it be?

Hi,

The battery is discharged, you would need to charge the notebook. If the power is plugged in and still the issue is there. Remove the batter and connect the power cable without the battery and turn on the notebook (without battery). If it turns "On" the battery has gone bad.

My laptop is not charging. it says 0% available (plugged in, not charging) plz help i have a stock hp pavilion dv5

Ifthe laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

Hi There, I have a HP Pavilion ZE4900 and recently the AC plug in won't work. I have taken the battery out and put it in another comuter that is the exact same and it charges fine, I put my battery in the...

If your computer won't charge the battery, but the battery charges fine in another computer, and you are sure that the charger is good, then your problem is probably the DC power jack. If you wiggle the end of the power cord where it attaches to you laptop, and it starts charging properly, then the DC power jack is broken.

Hi, when using the (AC Power Adapter), it is important that once the (Battery) is fully charge; to do one or the other. Stop! using the AC power, shutdown the computer, and unplug the AC power; use the battery (only), or remove the battery, and use (only) the AC power. Note: Using both power sources this can cause damage to the battery, by over charging, and possibly over heating the computer. Thanks paul7of9

Dv6700z power issues.

The power jack on the side of the notebook is either damaged & need to be replaced, or it just needs to be re-soldered to the laptops mainboard.
In either case, the laptop needs to be disassembeled & the jack either re-soldered or replaced.

HP Pavillion 6000 battery issues

Hi Steve, If you haven't gotten any batteries to work properly at all and the problems are different each time, I would say the motherboard is shorting out the batteries and causing weird problems. One last thing to try if possible..

Try a known good working battery, if that battery doesn't work then its verified that the motherboard is bad. If the known good working battery works in that laptop then you got a bad batch and it will be a battery problem.

Since your laptop turns on with the ac adaptor means that the ac adaptor is good.
