Re: 52" rca\hdtv

Do not have Verizon. I wished I could figure this out. I first thought it may be a power over load, on a certain receptacle, however that was not it either.

RCA D52W20 TV powers on fine, then shuts itself off after 5 - 10 minutes. After 20-30 minutes, I can turn tv back on, but then shuts off again in 5 minutes.

it looks like the problem is in the 16v line..try to take it apart..and there's gonna be a 2200mf cap leaky.
that will solve your problem.

My RCA big screen plays for about half a movie and picture dims then shuts off. Sound still works. I shut off for a few minutes picture comes back on and shuts off again after few minutes.

These units are famous for loose connections around the high voltage transformer and also bad capacitors in the power supply. The deflection PCB has to be removed to fix this problem. You probably would need to have a repair shop check it out for you. Thanks

Picture on TV shuts down but sound still on.

If this RCA TV has a Chassis number of ITC222 then you need to call a tech to swap out the deflection circuit board for a new or rebuilt board. This RCA Chassis is a TV Techs worst nightmare to repair.

There is a common power supply problem with these that requires the replacement of four capacitors on the power board. This could be causing your problem.

Won't turn on

those tvs will try 3 times before completely shutting down. you can try and take the back off and check CP150 it is a large capactior located near the middle of the board on the left hand side(looking from back) if it looks and feels like the top is vented or puffed out then that could be the problem. if not i suggest having a qualified service tech take a look because there are too many things that could be the root cause.
