Question about NetGear WG111T 802.11g/b (E82321) Wireless Adapter

1 Answer

I recieved above netgear wireless router from aol and was directed to buy an adapter - AOL suggested netgear WG111v2. I could not find this in PC World. So I bought the above adaptor. During set up I succeeded in completing Step 1 i.e. setting up the router. When I came to set up the adapter I did everything right but the system (Windows XP)could not pick up the adapter. After a point it started going round and round in circles asking me alternately to connect and disconnect the yellow ethernet cable. It would not get beyond this point. I have spoken to both NETGEAR and AOL each of whom asked me to contact the other. I don't know what else to do. Can you help please.

Netgear wireless adapter wg111t will not work work

It's impossible that the wireless router cannot detect your wireless adapter wg111t.
You try to test another one if still have a problem connecting with your wireless router.
If that router can see another wireless network available then maybe your Netgear wireless adapter have a problem incomplete installation or the wireless device is defective.
I have encounter like this before so maybe it's the same with.
Hope my tip will help you a lot.
Good luck!

Thank you.

Change channel router netgear for windows vista laptop for

It is hard to say without the netgear model and version, yet the concept is the same, open your web browser, type the ip address of the netgear in the address bar (you will need a password), then look for a menu regarding wireless or wlan or advance wireless configuration, and there you will see an option about channel selecction, just change it to match your laptop channel.

good luck.

Cannot connect to wirless with adapter on new computer

Although this model appears to support Windows Vista according to the manual for it ( the 64 bit version is not mentioned and, therefore, probably not supported. I'd take the wireless adapter back and find one that supports Vista 64 for certain. Some do.

You first need to install the driver. You can download it here: (it should have came with your adaptor)

You must also have a wireless router available for this to work, or in an area that has WiFi available.

Hey there Kjantzi, I have found the site for Netgear, and as I read it the update is one of the options but the drivers and firmware are there as well. Check here:
Choose the version for your OS on the left, and it gives you detailed instructions, including the update process, if needed. If you still have problems let me know. Good Luck!
