SOURCE: Note: CDC-625 unit won't open, no discs inside

Wait, wait!

I bought one of these units from a flea market for $5.00. It said the tray wouldn't open. I picked it up, and noticed the same thing you did. Humming motor, but the tray stayed put.

I opened it up to check things out, and all that was wrong was a (very) stretched out belt on the pulley that opened the tray. I replaced it with a rubber band and it has worked ever since. Once the rubber band wears out I'll replace it with a proper belt, but for now, it was a 2 minute fix that's lasted around 11 months so far. I really, really like this player, and plan to keep it working for a long time!

SOURCE: is there a way of connecting my ipod to my sherwood cd player?

The answer isn't with the CD player, it's with the amp.
Does the amp have selectable inputs, or does it just have one input for each channel?

If it's a simple power amp, then you'll have to unplug the CD player and connect your iPod to the amp inputs. I'm guessing that the CD player connects to the amp with RCA (phono) connectors like these ones.
If that's the case, you can get a cable (like this one at Radio Shack, but any office supply store will have one too) to connect your iPod to the amp.

My manual shows 4 different fuses.....The Outside SubWoofer fuse is a T2A 250V....Inside the Subwoofer There is a T4A 250V....I couldn't see the other fuse, and I assumed it was the same, then I find on the inside of the manual there is also a T1.6A 250V and a F200mA 250V
I have been trying to call Customer Service at 1-800-846-3000 but it's always busy.....

I have a sherwood cdc-5090/c/r multiple cd player - it goes on error when using open/close, disc selector, disc skip. have tried troubleshing guide but doesn't seem to work.

The problem is in the CD loading bays, quite often the gears will ware over a period of time causing error messages because it is unable to complete the cycle. The second issue is the timing gears go out of sink because one of the CD'S gets jammed against the other causing it go out. The repairs are tricky because of the timing issue, however if gears are stripped the whole CD bay must be replaced.

I need an amplifer/receiver for my CDC-5090C/R multiple compact disc player. I know nothing about electonics, please tell what model to buy and where to purchase it. Thanks!!

Almost any stereo receiver will work with your CDC-5090C/R compact disc player. As it uses standard analog RCA out.
Without knowledge of your price range (they can be had for $150-$20,000+), it would be difficult to recommended a specific model for your usage. Rather then give you a model, your best bet would to call or visit a local hi-fi shop with your disc player and what you are looking for in mind and let them assist you finding what meets your needs. If you are not located in an area that has any available audio experts, there are several great online dealers that can assist you with the process. One of the most notable for customer service is OneCall.com, who have a "1-800" you can call and they can walk you through what you're looking for.

If you have any other specific questions (like the setup of a receiver you purchased), please do refer them back at FixYa and we'd be happy to assist you.

SHERWOOD CDC-2000C ?D6376 starts skipping it was sent to be repair played about 2 discs when I got it back and started skipping again

Unfortunately the laser pickup assembly needs to be replaced, overtime the laser becomes weaker until it can not track properly and will end up skipping or won't read the disc. It is far cheaper to replace the CD player than have the assembly replaced.

Pinout of Round Connector on CDC A08 ?

See this diagram.
http://fileshare.eshop.bg/index.php?what=search2

(search for CDC A08 if link doesn't work)

Basically, 12v to pin '3' (with notch at top, it's the top row, third pin from the RIGHT) and ground to outter jacket of the connector. Push eject button, works a charm.

Cheers.
