Question about Washing Machines

Clicking Sound between agitation and drain cycle

I put it on the 6 min cycle and it agitates just fine, after agitation it starts clicking. After a period of a few min it drains the water and starts spinning just fine. It Goes through the rinse cycle and it starts clicking after it fills up. It again drains and starts spinning. I don't know what stage the clicking transpires but it is driving me crazy. Motor seams fine if it agitates and spinns, then not the motor. Have a clue what stage it is, between agitation and draining? Once I figure out that it might help me understand what the issue is...

Kenmore model 2495-4301. When closing the lid to begin any cycle, there's a metal clicking sound coming from the area of the bottom. The agitator will not move in any cycle. Just that clicking sound..

I had a similar problem with my washer. It was clicking, but the agitator was moving fine. The clicking was coming from the centrifugal switch. After checking the capacitor I was about the give up and call a repair tech. Then I noticed the Speed Selector was set between Delicate and Normal. I moved the selector to a proper position and the washer stopped making the clicking noise and is working correctly.

Washing machine is making a clicking/ticking sound when it is agitating during wash cycle

This is a sign of strained agitator components that are about to be damaged or stripped. I recommend pulling the agitator and clutch. inspect each device for stripped components and uneven ware. replace the agitator and clutch if found to be faulty.

Check the transmission(gear box) for damage as well. fill with oil if needed.

My washer does not drain after the rinse cycle

Open and close lid, listen for 'clicking' sound. If no 'clicking' sound, replace lid switch.

I had the same clicking noise. Turned out to be the coupling between the motor and transmission. A $15 plus 1 hour labor fix

Washer agitates for a time then sputters. Does not spin

In sounds to me like you have a motor issue. We have found that on these particuliar models, that the motor tries to run in both speeds at the same time. If you already replaced the control board, then you will have to get a new motor kit. This kit includes directions as well as a new wiring harness and start capacitor. You would have to remove the old motor and rewire the wiring harness (instructions included with the kit) and add the new start capacitor (instructions also included). Job is'nt really that hard to do. Front cover would be all you would need to remove to get to all the parts. Good luck and let me know how it turns out or if you need any additional help. Jim
