Question about Dell Inspiron 1000 Notebook

Hash sign(tilda) key doesnt work

Hi, In my inspiron 1000 i've a hash sign key(tilda) next to F12 key which doesn't work at all. When i type & try to use that key,..It doesn't work.. Can you please tell me how i can fix this problem.??

any key that is on the top of dual keys press and hold the shift key the n press the hash key or that specific key

Not able to type ''at the rate, hash, dollar sign etc

Can you please try pressing and holding Shift and then pressing the single quote key ( ' ). Do let us know if that gets the @ sign

Dell laptop inspiron 1000

Put recovery disk in the CD drive. On reboot, hold down F12 key. You should get a choice of drives to boot from. Make sure the first two are in the correct order:

1. CD-ROM (optical drive)
2. HDD (hard drive)

then press F10 to save and exit.

Now the laptop should boot correctly from the recovery disk.

Hash key

I tried the lower left Fn key plus the key just beneath the Backspace key on the right of the keyboard this created the # key you need (this on a Satellite Toshiba laptop)
