SOURCE: how to install batteries on kensington wireless mouse 72214

Normal 0 If the mouse doesn't have a little door to open on the bottom, then try this.
Just behind the Left and Right keys where your hand rests, apply firm pressure down on the cover and slide to the rear. Some mouse manufactures have used this type of access to replace the batteries.
Hope this helps. Bud

Have you tried to resync the mouse with the receiver. Usually, you need to press the button on the reciever first, then quickly hit the button on bottom of the mouse.

My kensington wireless mouse model 72117 is not being recognised by windows XP

You need to download the driver. Windows xp does not have a lot of drivers in its data base. If the mouse came with disc you can get it off of disc , if not you have to go to manufacturers website to download. Usually under support and downloads on websites.
