My iBook stopped charging past say, 25%and decreasing. I was using an unconventional charger for it. I bought it off the internet, and it started to die. If I slapped it really hard the light would turn on, and It'd charge. Everything has been going smoothly, and now I've let my guard down. Convenient. Any help would be nice. Even a heads up if it's the battery, software, or components would be very, very nice :)

- OK, after converting back to the original traditional apple charger, there is no change. It is a 100-240V, 50-60Hz127-182VA charger with 24.5 volts of output. 2.65 amps.

- It holds a charge. It most, if left for a day, it reaches 52%. Not slowly, but periodicly. It charges, turns off, charges, turns off, with no pattern,
Sir, to help you solve your problem I need a few details.
1. What is the input source?--in my country power input is 240V AC at 50 Hz.
2. What is the adapter config? Tha t is the 'mA' and 'V' rating on the adapter.
3. If it is a loose connection on the adapter(as it seems to be in your case) you can slap it and get some results for sometime. It that stops working, you will either have to open the adapter and fix the loose connection.
Or get a new adapter(recommended)
I think, this is a prob with the adapter. Even if it is not the adapter, using an adapter that works in fits and starts will damage the battery in a long run.
Please change the adapter.
