SOURCE: Pioneer receiver sx-315

With persistence, I was able to program the Universal Remote Control provided with the cable box to control my new used Pioneer SX-315 receiver. I now can control the tv volume, cable box, auxiliary stereo receiver with speaker system with one remote. Thank goodness I did not have to resort to buying a Pioneer remote control.

I was able to program another previously unused universal remote which I purchased several years ago. However, since the other remote control did not list the Vizio TV. That brand is too new for the remote.

SOURCE: Pioneer SX-450 Power Flickering

This is a common problem. The power switch is sparking internally. The contacts need to be burnished. This will extend the life of the switch. The switch itself is no longer available. If you are not comfortable repairing this, check with a shop that deals with vintage audio.

Pioneer receiver sx 316 shuts off after a few moments of being turned on

Mine is having this problem now.

Tried re-inserting the speaker wires.
Tried resetting before it shuts off.
Tried disassembling but solder joins are still nice.

It still shuts off soon after power up. Time to spend money? :(

Power switch on my Pioneer SX-950 receiver is hard to move.

Buy some electronic contact cleaner in a spray can, attach straw, "unplug receiver" and spray the power button, you may have to remove to be more effective.

Hello,
There is a couple ways you can do this.
1.you can use the maufacture remote control, or if you dont have one you would need a universal.
2.If your receiver is hidden, or behind closed doors than you will need a radio frequency capable universal remote
