With mine, the battery in the weather station has to be changed twice as often as the one in the external unit. Even though the display on the home unit is visible, it doesn't have enough power to pick up the signal from the outside sensor.
I am not familiar with yours, mine is national Geographic.
The reviews on yours are very mixed, but lots of questions are answered.
Check battery status indicator on main weather station of remote unit. If no indication, replace battery in remote unit. If battery is good then check "channel setting" of remote unit to make sure the channel setting on remote unit matches the "channel" setting on main unit. many weather stations will take up to 3 or 4 remote units and they must use different channels to relay the remote imfo to the main weather station unit.
I have two of these and they lose the signal occasionally. Per the manual: Make sure all batteries are good and then press the TX button on the remote sensor for 3 seconds so it sends a wireless signal to the weather station. It should beep. Then on the weather station hold the CH button for 5 seconds to make it search for the transmitter until the outside temp appears. Just removing batteries and reinstalling them in various orders doesn't work. You must re-establish the wireless connection between the outdoor sensor and weather station.
Remove all batteries. Reinstall batteries (or new ones) in the outside unit. Install batteries in the console. DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING! Wait until the outside temperature displays on the console. Make any adjustments necessary.
After a battery replacement, the outside and inside units have to "talk" to each other before you can get a display. Also, the outside unit's batteries have to be replaced first. You should not press any buttons for 10 minutes until the two units have finished "talking"
