Error code f81 cal:only can use stove top, nothing else

most of error codes disappear when a hard reset is done.

did u try a hard reset first?

Hi. Some of the Error Codes for Cabrio Starts F. So Look at the number coming after F. e.g. F81 -> lid opened.

You didn't post model, but with a surge you probably looking at replacing the ERC. Does the manual say to unplug to reset, or check again on reset the control.

Some have this for reset, can't hurt to try.

Press the BAKEand BROIL HI/LO pads at the same time for 3-5 seconds until the display shows SF.

Press the COOKTIME and BROIL HI/LO button (on some models press Broil only, refer to your use and care manual). The display should show C. Press the button again until F shows in the display.

Press START to complete the change.

If this clears control, do it again to reset to Fahrenheit.

This way actually resets for a error also besides temp.

It sounds like a bad control. Before replacing the control, make sure it is not in Sabbath Mode, Child lock and if all else fails try resetting the control to factory defaults. If none of these work then replace the clock/control part number 5701M827-60. This part runs about $175.00

Hi. you can try to reset the electronic oven control by unplugging the unit for 3 mins. if the problem still exist, you will have to replace the clock/control(electronic range control).

um cant really help other then to reccomned replacing the RPS sensor for a F51code. And as far as i beleive the part comes with a new sensor and attached wiring harness. a little more complicated then any other machine whirlpool has in the market so i probably would suggest you replacing the part yourself.. i wouldnt wanna chance breakin other parts while dismantling the assy.

Same thing happened to me. Reset your stove top by flipping your fuse off. The stove top will reset and the error code will go away.
