SOURCE: ''failed to initialized hardware!''

I had the same problem.... (the "failed to initialize hardware!") I found a solution posted somewhere... it's not my discovery, but I've checked it and it works. First of all, you need to uninstall the drivers for the Enutv. You can do that from Control Panel> System> Hardware> Administrator of Devices (I'm not sure about this last label, as my XP is in Spanish, but it's the first button in the folder). The hardware should be listed under the label sound, video and games devices. Once you uninstall the driver, you unplug the hardware and reset the computer if necessary. Now turn over to the installation cd. Inside the drivers folder, there is an XP folder and a Vista folder (choose the one you need), copy the 32bit folder to your computer, and plug in the device. When the Asistant runs, instead of looking for the drivers automatically, make the search yourself. And when it asks you for the file, select it yourself (it is the one in the folder you copied from the cd - note: if you don't have the cd you can download it from the Encore website). Once you finish with that, you can install the enutv software and enjoy it. I've read somewhere that you should re install the OS, but that is not necessary...
Hope it help!

I'm am trying to play age of mythology and after the movie ends, error appears and states "initialization failed".

Initialization failed

This means that the game is attempting to initialize hardware such as the video card but has failed

This can be caused by a number of factors.

1. Your hardware does not meet the games hardware requirements
2. Your hardware requires farther configuration to run the game properly

if you are certan that the game supports your hardware you may need to perform
some extra steps to get your game working

"Failed to initialize" is an incomplete error message because it does not tell you what exactly failed
a more complete error message would read "Failed to initialize the video subsystem" and then it would give an error code such as Error Code xxx telling you exactly what error code to look up
to determine what exactly failed.

Most of the time when a game says ( failed to initialize ) that means a video issue
this may mean missing files or wrong versions of files or incompatable hardware.
