SOURCE: incomplete formatting problems arise after preparing installation

Hi There,
Windows will generally restart one or more times during the "installing windows" phase of installation. This is normal. Just be patient, and let it run. If there was a problem with your hardware you'd see a blue screen with some information on it detailing hardware issues.
Slower PC's can take hours to install everything properly. Let it run overnight, It should be just fine.

SOURCE: I have a Easy Note TE11BZ laptop, it is stuck on

Pull the battery, and unplug the power. After about 10 minutes, just plug in the power. Leave the battery out. If it is still diagnosing your PC and fixing disk errors, let it run. These newer, larger hard drives take a long time to fix. I've had some take up to 3 hours.

I slam my computer screen shut.and now when Iturned it on it says preparing automatic repair and them wait the screen is blue. But.you can see the mouse and move it but.no screen sign on

automatic repair is initiated in case of windows corruption due to malware and viruses. it may happen due to incomplete updates and improper shut down.

you need to run the repair. if that does not work, then you will need a windows expert (technician) to work on your computer. call 1-877-805-1027 .. a reliable tech support company that will not scam you or charge too much.

My gateway logo comes on but then it says its preparing automatic repair and nothing else will happen what can i do now

My first thought would be Hard Drive corruption. Either due to a physical failure or a problem with your operating system. Download Seatools for Dos, burn it to a CD, restart your Gateway from the CD, run the Seatools program and check your Hard Drive for errors.

What can I do to get my laptop to start up rather than a continual error message and re-boot cycle?

It is looking for the operating system on the hard drive and failing to find it in the system restore area.

If it does not find it, it will look on the DVD and or flash drive.

You need to make a backup of the operating system on to a DVD or flash drive from another windows 8 computer and put it in the computer to be repaired.

ASUS T100 stuck at preparing automatic repair message will.not reboot

Hello there, i just owned a brand new Asus T100 for 2 days and today on the 3rd day after purchasing, i faced problems during boot/start up where the laptop gets frozen on the Asus logo screen.
I tried holding down the power button for 10 seconds and turned it on again. It ran a series of windows software updates before the start up, then after all software updates have been completed, the laptop resumed to freeze at the Asus logo screen again. I tried holding the power button for 10 secs followed by holding the power button and volume up button at the same time, to get into automatic repair/repair mode. THIS HELPS, get into the repair mode!

To cut it short, i tried the other advanced options as well as the restart button in the repair mode but to no avail. After carefully reading the different options in the 'advanced options' in repair mode...
Here's what worked for me:
1) If you're stuck at the Asus logo screen which doesn't seem to boot for ages or at least 10 minutes, hold down the power button for 10 seconds and let the screen turn black. (I did this with my charger plugged in, not too sure if it matters)
2) Count to 10 seconds. Switch the laptop on by HOLDING THE POWER BUTTON + VOLUME UP BUTTON at the same time. This will send the laptop into an 'automatic repair', followed by a 'diagnosing this PC' and after which you will see a blue screen which is the repair mode.
3) On the blue screen you will see 2 buttons, 'Restart' and 'Advanced Options'. Click on 'Advanced Options'. (DO NOT CLICK RESTART, it does nothing as you will get stuck again at the logo screen)
4) After clicking 'Advanced Options', click 'Advanced ....' (i forgot what exactly) and click 'STARTUP REPAIR'. This is the crucial part. Then follow whatever the system promts you.
5) Afterwards, it will attempt to repair your system then lead you back to the logo screen for startup.
6) Wait a few minutes and you should be able to get to your login screen as usual.

Hope this helps. I chanced upon it by guessing which would actually help me.

P1621

Trouble code P1621 means: Engine control module engine immobilization input circuit malfunction The Transmission Control Module (TCM) contains various types of memory to gather and share information internally. At shut down, the TCM stores information in memory to prepare for the next ignition cycle. When the TCM cannot communicate internally, DTC P1621 sets. DTC P1621 is a type A DTC.

DTC PARAMETERS
DTC P1621 will set if the TCM cannot communicate internally for a proper shut down.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
The suggested repair is TCM replacement. Remember to program the replacement TCM with the correct software and calibration.
however Ive know loose positive battery cable to toss out that code, so check your connections

I can't shut down my PC,It restarts again!

This behavior may occur if Windows stops responding during a typical operation or during the shutdown process. By default, the computer is configured to automatically restart when Windows stops responding. To view this setting, follow these steps:
  1. Click the Start button, right-click My Computer, click Properties, click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Start up and Recovery.
  2. Under System Failure, view the Automatically restart check box. If the Automatically restart check box is selected, Windows automatically restarts if the computer stops unexpectedly.
If your computer constantly restarts while you are using it, or if you are trying to shut down the computer after it has stopped unexpectedly, click to clear the Automatically restart check box. If you clear this check box, you receive an error message when the computer stops responding. This error message may describe the cause of the problem. You can also review the system log in Event Viewer to view the critical stop error that occurs when the computer restarts. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 308427 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308427/ ) HOW TO: View and manage event logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP To configure the way that Windows responds when the computer stops unexpectedly, follow these steps.

Note: You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group to complete this procedure. If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from completing this procedure.
  1. Log on to the host computer as either an administrator or the owner.
  2. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  3. Under Pick a category, click Performance and Maintenance.
  4. Under the or pick a Control Panel icon section, click System.
  5. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
  6. Click to select any one of the following check boxes under System Failure:
    • Write an event to the system log
    • Send an administrative alert
    • Automatically restart
At last if nothing works then clear the "Star up"
  7. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Start up
If you are not satisfied then If you are using XP then repair it.

thanks

My computer sarts automatically when I want to shut down

it seems that your computer restart when you attempt to shut down. this problem due to short in power button in the cabinet. open the right side of the cabinet.most probably there will be red&white twisted thin wire from front panel for power, the colour may vary manufacture to manufacture.be carfull with it. see at left bottom of your dell PC mother board the wire will lead to two pin specifying power, restart, hdd etc.. short it with your screw driver. if system turn on then it is problem with switch replace it or if it not work then reboot the os.
