Color from sony ccd-fx410

-   I have the exact same problem. Previosuly the camcorder worked fine. Now the past two times I have used it I have got 5 dark grey lines across the recording. It only affects a few minutes of the recording before clearing. I am using new tapes. -   greenie99

-   the tape in my ccd- fx410 does play but there are horizontal bands of color across the screen. -   Guest

-   I tried hooking this up to a TV capture card on my desktop PC. When I play it through the camera using composite cables (Yellow and White (mono sound)) it plays back with sound in a great quality but only in black and white. For kicks I then hooked this up into my CRT television. I used both the composite and used RF converter to see if there was a difference. On the CRT using both connections I saw what looked like small color bands. In some small parts it looked like I was getting a little color, but most it was still black and white with color bands throughout the screen. Tapping the camcorder slightly made the color distort even further. This is an indication to me that the color is dead or dying. -   barteman
