SOURCE: hoover vhd148a cycle not working when loading door is shut

It ispossible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errorsdue to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main programcontroller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting fromthe flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit thewater at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then thevoltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to novoltage from the controller. This meansthe controller is a suspect.Check the lid switch which must activate the program to start.

The 7kg hoover will wash then stop agitating

There can be many reasons why the machine does not agitate. If it does not complete the cycle, then it can be a problem with the timer control, see The cycle doesn't advance .
If cycle goes on, but does not agitate, it can be the agitator and more, see It doesn't agitate or There's no delicate or regular spin or agitate
