Loud toner error

The machine does not use the toner directly from the bottle, it goes thorught a developer chamber filled with developer powder. Then the toner is charged and can "jump" over to the latent image of the drum.
In this developer chamber, there are some small gears (2-3 tiny gears) that may be worn out. Some developer may have entered the "gearbox", and the deveoper powder is very abrasive.
The teeth of the gears will eventually stop to contact and mesh up. The internal parts of the developer changer stops to revolve, and there is no toner mixed with the developer.
You can see that there is a build up of toner, but it does not enter the developer unit. These gears have to be replaced, and I allways change the developer powder at the same time.

mp 2000 developer gears-2rhlv5r3sdqqpeuzs0ozcjtp-5-0.jpg These gears must be replaced it they are worn. The image shows a brand new part that contains the gears.

mp2000 developer toner input side-2rhlv5r3sdqqpeuzs0ozcjtp-5-1.jpg This is the side of the developer unit where toner enters the developer unit. With defective gears, the developer unit can not pull toner inside of the unit, and the toner builds up in front of the unit.

The gears are cheap, but will often result in the need of new developer powder - and that is expensive.
If print quality does not have to be too good, one can use the old powder and save money. Some of the powder is lost during use, and leaks. There may be some dust in the developer too.
In order to get high quality several parts may need to be replaced.

It is quick and easy to change these gears, just a bit dirty job.

Tip

Using Pencils for Lubrication

The"lead" in a pencil is graphite. This is commonly used in industry for lubrication in situations where there are high temperatures or pressures or where dirt would stick to oil. Around the home it can be used to lubricate where grease or oil would be messy, e.g.lubricating zips, drawing instruments, sliding surfaces, locks etc.To lubricate a zip simply run the tip up and down the teeth of the open zip.To lubricate a tumbler lock, first break off a lump of lead from a pencil. Push this into the keyhole of the lock. The aim is to crush the lead up into powder in the lock. Push the key into the lock and turn it backwards and forwards. If you meet any resistance just keep sliding the key in and out and backwards and forwards until the lead is broken up. Alternatively run the tip of a pencil backwards and forwards along the teeth on the key.Graphite can also be used for lubrication where a surface can become very hot and where oil would be unsuitable e.g. hinges on stoves, sliding parts. Make some graphite powder by splitting up a pencil using a knife or otherwise and extract the lead. Crush this in the lid of a jar with a blunt object such as the handle of a screwdriver or something similar. The powder can then be shaken into the hinges. If it is mixed with oil, it can be formed into a paste. This can then be worked into the joint or onto the surface to be lubricated.

Whiten dentures

You should be soaking them clean, at minimum, once or twice a week with an extra strength powdered cleaner. In between those days, use a regular tablet type cleaner each day. That will help to keep them clean, disinfected and as white as they were the day you got them. Don't expect to be able to make them whiter than the shade you had your dentist make them for you when you originally had them made. Unfortunately, you can only "whiten" your own teeth that you were born with, in that way.

Error code 50 for a brother mfc-6490cw

you have to fix the encoder strip into right position within the ph carrier! do push the head left/right to see if there are waves infront of it. if so, fix the strip into position!

If you refill your carts use 2ml glycerol (from drugstore) with 10ml dye-ink: mix well before refilling. For bk use 1,5ml glycerol with 20ml bk dye-ink.

The glycerol prefents the ph/nozzels and tubesystem from drying up!

Magenta clogged

OK: Lets give you a hand and an advice, if you dont mind:

the advice:
brother uses DYE-ink for C/Y/M which contains an amount of glycerol and some cleaning fluids:
I guess you run 100ml ink boxes (so you might do a math operation ;-) for your amount needed)
Use 25 ml of glycerol (85%- glycerin alc from drugstore) and mix it with 75ml of dye ink very well.
Use 5ml glcerol and 95ml of ink for BK. This has to be shaken very well, because BK ink contains of diffrent chemiclas than Y/M/C.

Now the hand:

Make sure the CIS is placed well in place at printer side (and some how secured).
press menu then start bk-copy then fourtimes arrow-up quickly after another. machine will turn to maintenance mode (light will flash).
press 7 -6 -4 and then start bk-copy.
Machine will initialize the "carts", refresh ink in tubes and ph and delete all air which might be within the ink system (this could be the reason why you cant print mag!). It runs an extra power cleaning, too.
When finished, press 7 -6 -3 then start bk copy to do a power purge.
When finished press 9 then 9 to leave the maintenance mode. machine comes up in normal state.
Do run a test print and check all squares.

If you cant see any mag the ph is definitly clogged and needs replacemnet (brother ph techniques cant be cleaned by fluids or outside the system! So dont waist your money on cleaning carts which wont work!)

MFC640-CW how to remove printer head

DO NOT remove the ph!

What you can do is to run the initial set-up for carts:

Place ORIGINAL ink carts into machine!

Press menue then start b/k cpoy then fourtimes arrow up. machine turns to maintenance mode. press 7 then 6 then 4 then start b/k copy. machine initializes the carts and do some very special cleaning. When finished press 7 then 6 then 3 then start bk copy. Machine runs an exrta power cleaning. press 0 (Zero) then 9 to print a test print.

If your lucky the cheap ink hasnt affected the ph nozzels.

Do refill the original carts with a mixture of glycerol (from drugstore) and DYE ink (e.g. jettec) only:
For C/Y/M mix 3ml of 85%-Glycerol with 10ml of DYE ink.
For BK mix 2ml glycerol with 20ml of BK dye ink!

Shake very well and wait a few minutes to let the airbubbles out of the mixture before refilling!

The glycerol prevents the nozzles from drying out ;-)

Instructions on refilling cartridge for brother LC41CL cartridge

Do mix the ink with some glycerol to prevent clogging!

2ml glycerol (85%-glycerin alc. from drugstore) with 10ml of ink for C/Y/M and shake well (mix) before use. Mix 1,5 ml glycerol with 20ml BK ink.

Simply drill a hole into the brandname (O of brother) on top of the cart. Refill with 12ml for C/Y/M and about 21ml for bk.

You can leave the hole open.

Next time when cart is empty simply open scanner and refill without taking the cart out! ;-)

DO MIX THE INK WITH GLYCEROL!!!

Non of the inks are working, even though they are all new carts.

so go back to maintenance mode. Make sure all carts are at full level, placed well and are secured. press 7 then 6 then 4 by help of arrow-up and set key. display should be init_all. press start bk-copy. when finished (maintenance) press 7-6-3 then start bk-copy.
leave maintenance after cleaning procedure by pressing 9 then 9. If youre lucky the generic ink hasnt affected the ph. print a test prit. if you cant see any blocks nor signs the ph needs replacement.

anyway: if you use generic ink do mix some glycerol (glycerin alc.) from drugstore: 2ml of 85%-glycerol with 8ml of generic ink. This prevents the ph nozzels from drying out or clogging!
