How to use your laptop as a wireless router.

Start- control panel - network and internet - network and sharing center - on Task choose "set up a connection or network"- then choose wireless ad hoc (computer to computer network) - clic next then make up a name for your network and if preffered you can choose to put a password or you can just choose it to be an open network. Then click share internet connection. Now your laptop is a wireles router. Except that it is not on all the time unless you want to keep it on all the time like a wireless router.

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 w/ window xp. I show my wireless connection on the signal is excellent but when i click internet explorer its says its connect to internet - i dont have working offline clicked...

Try connecting to another wireless connection... if it connects to another connection and you get to the internet, then it is something with your wireless router or modem. Your PC can "see" a wireless connection, so it is NOT PC hardware.

It sounds like you can connect to the router, but cannot go through the router to get to the internet. Probably a simple issue with your modem or router. Try power cycling the modem, and power cycling the router. Then restart your PC and try connecting again.

If all that fails, try installing Mozilla Firefox and see if that will get out to the internet. It may be a problem with Internet Explorer.

LAPTOPS KEYBORD

Uninstall the Belkin software and see if it helps. If not, then you will have to do a soft reinstall of the OS over the curent install with your Packard Bell Windows Cd, or a fresh install. (Make sure you make a back if you are doing a fresh install.

If you have made a restore point earlier, you can try to restore the system to a point before you installed the Belkin router. This way you do not need to do a fresh Windows install. But you will lose any data you stored since the time of that restore point.
