SOURCE: Can't fax more than one page at a time

Don't say 'no more pages', scanner should detect the last page and continue.

SOURCE: remove glass to access scanner

I personally wouldn't try to do that, you run the risk of rendering the scanner nonfunctional, and also probably would void the warranty if it's still applicable. You may try calling Lexmark support at 1-800-332-4120 and tell them the scan bar is really noisy, and that's making the scans blurry. Depending on whether you're still under warranty and who you get (no joke), you may get a free replacement, since this sounds like a manufacturing defect.

If you can't get it replaced because it's out of warranty and decide to buy new, Lexmark's new business products that have just been released have a 5 year warranty, which is probably best in class. Check them out here.

Sorry I didn't respond to your post sooner, you've probably fixed this by now - I only registered here recently.

that sounds more like a mechanical issue. You might want to call Lexmark at 1-800-LEXMARK about the problem. Hope your printer is still within warranty. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: my scanner has a faded image down the page

It probably can be repaired, but get an estimate first- parts and labor can add up. Call a couple authorized repair shops to get a ballpark figure. The cost of some repairs sometimes justifies just going ahead and getting a new one. Wish I had an easy answer for you, but hope this helps.

How do I dismantle the Scanner Unit (the box with the platen glass on top)?

Hello, my name is Steve.

Even if you are able to try to clean the Scanner (in this case it is not setup like a "full-size Copier, scanner" .

There are many very small wired plugs, ribbon cables the require to be removed from the logic board . The room of removal and re-install requires patients, as well as carefully unfastening the hidden snap clips.

I believe that the scanner head is the cause of the problem, unfortunately, there are no replacement parts. Call up Canon and see if it is under some warranty or is they offer a replacement of this model .

I hope this assists you, best regards,Steve

Scanning half a page

You will need to check your page settings. As each program is different, the page setup will generally stay the same. It will also change if you are scanning at 0, 90, 180, or 270 degrees as well.

My scanner makes a loud noise on start up what is it ?

It is normal for your Epson scanner to produce noise on startup as it calibrates the motor that moves the scan mechanism when powered on. But if this is too loud than normal, it means that there may be already a problem with the motor and must be replaced if it wouldn't give out quality scans. Otherwise, it is working normally.

EPSON 350 scans 1/2 photo, makes loud clicking noise.

The chassis bends very easily on this model and the problem can be caused by scanner not being on a level base supported by all its feet.

Grinding noise

There is usually a slide type button somewhere around the outside of the scanner and it usually has a lock & unlock sybol on it. You may want to make sure that it is slid totally in the unlock position because it could be getting caught inside once in a while if the button is say half way between lock and unlock... Hope this helps...

Loud grinding noice before starting to print

Mine makes a grinding noise when scanning or making copies. As long as everything is working, I just tolerate the noise in which the rest of the staff find amusing at first and then ignore it as I do.
