SOURCE: I've got a Maytag MF12568AES

Its defrost problem. The defrost is not working,.The evaporator coil in the inner section of freezer is got blocked by ice .
Try manual defrost reset procedure: ----
First unplug the unit from main power outlet. Then empty whole unit completely. Then keep both the doors open. Wait for 24 hours. All the ice collected on the coils and in the freezer section will get melted. Clean the water from the sections. Then Connect the power cord of the unit to main power outlet after 24 hours/.Then set the temperature to normal in both fridge and freezer section. It will take near to 4 hours to get run in its proper cooling cycle. Then check, if the problem returns again. If the same problem occurs then it's defrost problem. The defrost board and the defrost thermostat/heater is not functioning properly and it has to be checked and replaced. -------
The procedure of this unit is as follows: --- The compressor starts then it cools the freezer section. When the freezer reaches its cooling level the defrost cycle starts functioning. In this cycle the fan in the freezer section starts running and the cool air in the freezer section is passed to the fridge section and the fridge section gets cold.
In your case , It's starting the cooling procedure, and then while defrosting, it's not working. The defrost assembly consists of three main parts. The defrost thermostat, the defrost heater and defrost board. Any of the one is not functioning. When thermostat sense the maximum cooling, it triggers the defrost heater to start heating and this defrosts the ice collected on the coils and the system works. Both thermostat and heater are controlled by defrost board. First the thermostat and defrost heater to be checked, if both check ok by meter and visually, then its defrost board causing the problem. You can get required parts from online sites like: --- www.repairclinic.com or from searspartsdirect online site.--------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

MF12568AEB control panel on door went blank. Fridge is running but no lights, no water, no ice, no controls

First test the plug connection under the hinge cover of the door that has the controls in it. This is to insure that the male and female plug connections are tight. Next we will need to check the dispenser control board and keyboard electrical connections are tight. Let me know the results.

Compressor is not on. Check out the start relay/capacitor for starting compressor. If latter still does not start and electricity is definitely reaching motor, then compressor is burned out - terminal
Given the age of refrigerator might be better to get a new one since a new compressor and labor to install can be rather high and not cost effective.

Freezer is not keeping food frozen and water is leaking between the freezer door and seal on the freezer door? The fan is blowing cool air.

is the compressor running?how long has the freezer been melting out?if you open the fridge door, turn the cold control up and listen to see if you hear the compressor start,if it doesn't try tapping on the control with a screw driver,if the control is bad it sticks inside and if you tap it sometimes it will free it and start but it will stop again, just doing this to check what's bad in the fridge, lso there's a timer in the fridge section, look around where the control is,you'll see a hole in the bottom of the console, you can stick a straight bladed screw driver up it and turn it slowly until it clicks,if the compressor starts when it clicks you have a bad timer and it was stuck in defrost,if the compressor is running and the freezer is still melting out you could have a leak in the sealed system a freon leak, you can check this by removing the back inside wall of the freezer, look at the evap coil,if there's just ice on the top instead of an even frost pattern over the whole coil then you have a freon leak,if the fridge has been running and you look at the coil it should have frost covering the whole coil,if ice is just on top it's new refigerator time, get back to me and let me know if the compressor is running, iis the door closing correctly and no rips in the gasket,if it has a light in the freezer push the light switch in and make sure the light is going out,if not the bulb is heating up the freezer, make sure the evap fan is blowing in the freezer and no ice on the back wall of the freezer, has any water been dripping into the fridge from the freezer,if so you have a blocked drain.do some checks and get back to me,if the freezer is melting out it sounds like you have a compressor problem

MZD2766 fridge light works but the fridge and freezer is not working. The water dispenser and ice cube not working either. I did hear buzzing coming from inside the top fridge side occassionally.

it could be a defective cold control, you can use a jumper wire to bypass this and see if the compressor starts,or it could be a bad ptc overload on the compressor itself, and these are easily changed too

MAYTAG MODEL# MQU1556AEW, HAS POWER, LIGHT COMES ON, QUIT COOLING, WE LIVE IN THE HILLS, NO APPLIACE REPAIR PEOPLE, HAVE ELECT TESTER AND BASIC KNOWLEDGE, I COULD USE DIAGNOSTIC MANUAL OR HELP,, THANKS

If the fan in the freezer is working , but the compressor is not , then the overload/relay is bad ( pt # 4356738 ) . If you hear nothing , then the defrost timer is bad ( pt # 4357124 ) . This part looks like its located close to the compressor or in one of the corners of fridge on back with about 1/2 " hole to access manual turning slot . Turn the slot and see if fridge starts .

Liebherr frost free fridge/freezer

Try these solutions in these order:
1. Switch off the fridge and leave the door open overnight. Switch it back on in the morning.
Explanation: The sensor inside the fridge gets frozen and cannot control the temperature properly.
2. Switch off the fridge. Unplug it. At the back of the fridge (behind the unit, not inside) there is a large grid. Clean it with a hoover thoroughly. Open the fridge. Dry the back of the fridge if wet (inside the fridge). If frosted wait for it to defrost and then dry it. Plug in the fridge. Switch the fridge back on. This one worked for me.
Explanation: The dust in the grid deprives the fridge from cooling down and the unit can't control the temperature in the fridge section.
3. Switch off the fridge. -Unplug it. Empty it. Turn it upside down. Plug it in. Switch it on for 24 hours. Switch it off. Unplug, return to normal and switch on.
Explanation: This has to do with the pressure of the gas inside the compressor. I have not tried it but this advice as given to me by a qualified electrician when I commented the (in)famous F2 problem in Liebherr fridge/freezers.
Hope it helps. Regards. Albert

FRONT DISPLAY SHOWS (PE0-000)

Usually the owners manual would show the error codes so check there first. As for the compressor running, it "should" be cooling if the compressor is running. But lets go back a little, why was the HV board replaced?
