SK-S10 with MP3 and card....How do you get it to work?....Is there an opp's manuel?

As I understand, SK-S10 is a Bluetooth speaker. If your MP3 player is not Bluetooth-enabled (and I believe very few are), you cannot use the SK-S10 with the MP3 player. But you can use it (via Bluetooth) with your cellphone, tablet, computer (if Bluetooth-enabled) and with any other Bluetooth-enabled media device.

How many speakers can you connect to a tannoy s10

The question doesn't really make sense because a Tannoy S10 is a speaker. You can daisy chain as many speakers as you want. That's not the issue though. It's what load the amp sees that's the problem.

Most Hi-Fi speakers are a nominal (that means average) 6~8 Ohm load. However, the Impedance varies with frequency and phase. So at certain frequencies the amp will see a much higher load; maybe as much as 30 Ohms. At other points the load will drop to 3 or 4 ohms. The reason why your amp doesn't fry itself is that music contains a wide range of frequencies, so the load is made up of lots of different slices of impedance all summed together.

If you start to add extra speakers on to an amp then one of two things will happen. Either they'll be wired in series; in which case the Ohms load will increase by the addition of the speaker impedances e.g. 8 Ohm + 8 Ohm = 16 Ohms pre channel. Or the impedance will be reduced because the speakers are wired in parallel (1/8 + 1/8)inverse = 4 Ohms.

16 Ohms is about on the limit of what a very good Hi-Fi amp could drive. But the volume will be reduced and the amp will go into distortion much earlier.

4 Ohms is a much bigger problem. The impedance swings will dip dangerously low to the point where the amp sees the speaker load as a short across the terminals. At that point the amp will dump a whole load of current into the speakers, thus frying the voice coils and burning itself out. That ends with a small puff of smoke and a very large repair bill.

If you want a system louder then you have to add more amps and more speakers. Simply piling speakers on to an existing amp won't do it. You're spreading the amplifier power more thinly because of the extra load, so each speaker ends up being quieter.

Not sure of the real answer for this but I use my Iriver like an external hard drive. I just drag and drop my music on without using the Iriver software. Have not had any problems yet.

Iriver s10 problem

there is a 'reset hole' next to the power on switch - you need a pin to push into the reset hole

I do not use the software that comes with the S10 - it always wants to go on to the internet and re download itself. If I want to copy music over I use windows explorer and copy MP3s into the music folder

Here is what I do when I need to reset - format S10 machine from windows
1. plug the S10 into the computer via the USB key
2. You should see the S10 in Windows Explorer as a portable flash disk
3 Right Click and select format - Warning! all data will be lost if you have not backed up!
4 In the File System drop down list select FAT (the default is FAT32)
5 Click start to format the device.
6 Once the S10 has been formatted unplug it from the computer
7 Turn the S10 on and scroll down to SETTINGS
8 Right click and scroll down to Advanced
9 Right click and scroll down to Format Device
10 Right click and then click OK to confirm
On the same menu as Format Device is Reset All Settings - I recommend you do this as well.
11 Plug the S10 back into the computer
12 When you look at the S10 in Windows Explorer you will see it has created some extra folders
13 drag and drop MP3 music files into the Music folder and away you go!
14 you can create additional folders in the Music folder if you want to organize your music

Iriver S10

If you want to copy music from cd to the S10, just use Windows Media Player to rip the cd, creating eg WMA files on your hard disc. Then copy them to the S10. Don't need any iriver software.
