Question about Solar Noma 7 Day, 6 Event Outdoor Timer - Easy To Use +warr

Open Question

The unit shorts out. The unit tipped over on a carpeted surface and now it shorts out causing the electrical panel to be re-powered. Can it be fixed or is it best to change the unit? .

Once the unit tipped over a large spark near the control panel lit up and the blew the relay in the electrical box. I switched the relay back on, plugged it in and it keeps shorting out. I opened the unit and disconnected the wiring to reach the control board but don't see any shorts unless it affected the board. Where and how can I fix this unit please ? It's a Noma digital model ew7507ce, type kr775071SEP with serial # 74715. thank-you

SOURCE: lost instuctions to program Model N1560 Noma outdoor timer

Use the top button to adjust the current time & then push the bottom button once to save. Next is the time you want the lights to turn on & push bottom button once to save. The last setting is the time you want the lights to turn off. Don't forget to use the . (period) indicator for the pm setting. (I had the same problem and had to search the net to find someone else who had posted the instructions.)

Timer is not identified.
Noma is a recognized brand name that is licensed to many different product manufacturers for a variety of different products including timers.
Check resources below:

1) Add a comment with clear description of timer, and/or post a photo on flickr and include link to photo

2) Open following link to see various Noma timers and download possible manual:

3) If you have different product than a timer, for example an oil-burning radiator or electric baseboard heater then re-post question on fixya with clear description of product for possible research and information

What would cause a 2005 ford explorer sports trac to not have turn signals or brake lights and it blows fuses when we put them in.

You have a shorted wiring harness, check at the rear of the vehicle undercarriage first for a damaged wiring harness that is cut or worn through on frame or other metal surface. There is no magic fix for shorted wiring, just hard work and close examination.

Water in the power head

Make sure machine is un plugged. Open up the power head that you are worried about and put some uncooked rice inside then close it back up, wait a few hours (or day if you want more reassurance). The rice will soak up any moisture trapped underneath anything or stuck in corners etc. Re-open use a cotton que-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean the inside, electric boards and all, large surface areas that are not electrical could be cleansed in a less tedious way. Close it up again then try plugging in and turning it on. Watch for and smell for any burning signs, if you see or smell any turn it off and unplug it immediately. That is how to dry and clean any electrical device. Hope this solves the problem.

E MACHINE T5026 KEEPS LOOSING POWER DUE TO OVERHEATING. ANY SUGGESTIONS

I'm not sure if your unit is a laptop or tower but if it's a tower, check to see if the cooling fan in the power supply itself is running. If not, fix it. If it is, UNPLUG the unit and open up the power supply itself. This fan will find every speck of dust in your house and deposit it in every nook and cranny of any tower power supply. I cannot stress enough to unplug the unit and DO NOT use any metal tools, picks or probes and KEEP YOUR FINGERS OUT of the unit. These are usually what's called a switching supply and develope several hundred volts early in the circuit and, like the television, they have high voltage capacitors that can retain a charge even when unplugged!!! If this is the case, if you have a mini vacuum, use it to clean it out. You can also "CAREFULLY" use the hose and flat tipped upholstery attachment of a regular vacuum cleaner being careful not to move or bump any parts out of position as their positions are in some cases critical to keep the supply from radiating RF noise back into your computer or out to other appliances around the house. If worse comes to worse use a small wood or plastic handled artist's paint brush, close your eyes and blow it out. While you are rooting around in there, you may want to look for any electrolytic capacitors that have bulging tops, discolored resistors, transistors, diodes or other semiconductors and their associated heat sinks if any or the area under these parts on the circuit board itself. Any of these parts can cause the problem you describe.
I suggest this ONLY if you feel comfortable around high voltages. If not, DO NOT try this!!! Open the supply and run it until it malfunctions. When it does, take a can of compressed air like you use to clean your keyboard. Attach the enclosed tube to the spray head and give a short spray to each semiconductor one-at-a-time. Spray a part, watch to see if your function is restored. Spray another, watch again. Continue this until your unit is working again and this will be the faulty part. We used to be able to buy small cans of R-12 freon for this purpose until they found it ruined the ozone layer.
If it is a laptop, make sure your supply is not laying on a carpet, bed, pillow or any other plush surface. Make sure you have it on a flat, hard surface to allow air flow around it.
Good luck,
Jeff Mc.

My electrolux O3 carpet power head keeps shorting

If your unit is like ours, there is a electrical short in the wand to Hose connection.. dont use it.. ours unit shorted out and sparks were everywhere.. burned thru the wand to the inside of it and the outside. Good thing my lovely wife wasn't touching that part. electrocution risk was Extreme. PESTER ELECTROLUX, they drag their heels when it comes to admitting and making it right.

We just started getting shocked when we turn on some of our light switches never had this happen before it started hapening right after we had lost power does anyone know what might cause this? Thanks...

Angela
It sounds like a static electricity issue to me, and if so there are many products on the market to eliminate this. The most effective are anti-static carpet spray's that can be purchased from a local carpet dealer or supply. You can research other remedies on the web.
Tip: You can create an inexpensive anti-static spray by mixing laundry fabric softener with water 50/50 into a spray bottle. Lightly mist this spray on carpets and other surfaces to prevent static buildup.
Hope this helps
Good luck...
