I have the unit connected with a CPU, Memory, etc. When it powers on it seems to be a normal boot but no video. I have know good working cables for VGA, DVI, and HDMI connected. No PC speaker beeps or noises either. I have reseated components and rebooted several times with the same results. Any ideas?

Hi i have a P4M800P7MA-ERS2H foxconn M/B that powers up but nothingelse -doesnt boot how can i tell if its a cpu or motherboard fault ty warren

Normally the only way to be sure is to use a CPU that you know works in another computer and test it in the motherboard that is not working. Also make sure that everything is connected to the motherboard properly and you can try disconnecting everything except CPU, RAM, video, and power to see if the computer boots like that.

Changed cpu multiplier from 17 to 19 now have blank screen on foxconn a88gmx, cant reset as cannot access bios

Try clearing the CMOS --- the down side is your lose all your setting --- the up side is you should be
able to access your BIOS

Clear CMOS Jumper: CLR_CMOS1 ( Located near CMOS battery )
The motherboard uses CMOS RAM to store the basic hardware information (such as BIOS data,
date, time information, hardware password...etc.). Clear CMOS data is the fast way to go back to
factory default when the BIOS settings were mistakenly modified.
The steps to clear CMOS data are :
1. Turn off the computer, unplug the power cord from the power outlet.
2. Remove jumper cap from pins 2-3, put it onto pins 1-2 to short them.
This will clear CMOS data.
3. Return the setting to its original with pins 2-3 closed.
4. Plug in the power cord to your computer and turn it on.
5. Go to BIOS Setup to configure new system as described in next chapter.
Clear Jumper on pins 1 & 2

  • Disconnect the power cable before adjusting the jumper settings.
  • Do not clear the CMOS while the system is turned on.

I get continious beeping in my computer with no display

No beeps Short, no power, bad CPU or motherboard, or the CPU is not installed properly. One long beep, then two short beeps Video problem Continuous hi-lo beeps CPU overheating Repeated long beeps Memory error All other beeps Memory related error
If you are getting hi lo beeps, refit CPU and heatsink
If continuous long beeps, check memory is seated correctly, if more than 1 stick, try each one on its own, 1 may be faulty, or incompatable

Long beep when power on PC

Usually any kind of clear distinctive beep while booting up is an error code. If you get a long beep with no display then it could be the memory or CPU. Check to make sure all of your cards are pushed in all the way. Just take your hand and push on your memory, cpu, and other cards gently but firmly to make sure they are seated. Also make sure that everything is connected. You may have missed connecting power to something.

No beep no display

Hi,

If you have had an electrical power surge.
It,s for sure that you have caused damage to the Motherboard-CPU And possibly The RAM ( Memory ) There is no fix for this. I,d suggest New Power Supply Unit. New Motherboard. You can then Try The Memory And CPU On The New Board/PSU.
You may be lucky And the memory and CPU May have survived.
It seems as if the motherboard has suffered the damage.
I,d also suggest investing in a surge protector also, once bitten twice shy.

Foxconn P9657AB motherboard installation problem

You're Foxconn board uses the Award bios.
The long beeps you are hearing are telling you there is a problem with you're memory.
You're pic does not look like the Foxconn P9657AB-8EKRS2H MB as shown in the user manual. Found on This link.
http://www.foxconnchannel.com/product/Motherboards/detail_overview.aspx?ID=en-us0000297
The pic on Foxconn's site does but not the manual listed.
The motherboard uses four 240-pin slots with 1.8V for DDR2 memory only.
(Question? Did you're ECS MB use DDR2 memory)?
If you have more than 1 DIMM installed remove all but 1.
Move the DIMM into the closest slot next to the CPU.
Boot the PC & check for beeps. If still presant move the DIMM to the next slot & try again. Continue this through all four slots. Than try another DIMM. If the mother board continues to beep as mentioned than call Foxconn. (There is a bios update mentioned below for memory).
The CPU may come into question. (It’s revision). You may have to call Foxconn for this information. (580-272-0035). They do not place this information in their user manual. Most users have to call. The rev of the CPU may conflick with the memory causing you to receive the bios beeps. (I have had to return 2 boards for this reason). I picked an Asus board over Foxconn.
I have come across this with Foxconn motherboards these past two years. Suggest you update you’re bios. Foxconn has a revision dated, 3-28-2008 for memory before you call. After bios update test the memory again for beeps. Still there? Return the board is my suggestion.
It’s a guess that the red led will go away after the memory issue has been addressed. Normally there is a green led on most motherboards. This means standby. The board has power connected. I could not find any reference in the user manual * .pdf, for R450.

Good Luck ninjo61!
