My new Nexus 7 wont go past the "Select Wi-Fi" screen although I have set the Wi-Fi up

I assume you're using a secure Wifi connection with a password and it seems like that authentication is not working. You could try using an open wifi access point to eliminate the possibility of this authentication issue.

Nexus 7 won't turn on after charging

I found that if the Nexus 7 (or 10) is left on until the battery drains completely, then switches itself off, it doesn't switch on normally after a recharge. All you need to do is press the on button for several seconds and it will reboot. If that doesn't work then try a hard reset. Refer to user manual which should be in the file system.

I'm not sure if it has the same function as the nexus 7.. When the '7' blocks you press the power button andfor about 20 seconds and it switches off and resets itself. ( nothing ventured?)

Nexus 7 wont turn on

It could be the battery, have you tried another charger? Perhaps a more powerful charger? If not take to a reputable repair shop

Switched on my nexus 7 and it wont go past the multicoloured x

Only thing to really do is wait for the battery to die all the way, then try the hard reset after it charges up a little bit.

Wont turn on

If you can get into the bootloader try doing a factory reset, if you are rooted press and hold the power and vol down button and that would boot into recovery. Worse case, you can google factory images for nexus 7 e and download a factory image from google and they provide the instructions on how to reimage your devices

My nexus 7 will not turn on

You can try a hard reset. Hold down the power button and the volume buttons at the same time. The device should then power on and you can follow the on-screen prompts.

Hope that helps!

My nexus 7 will not turn on and its only a week old

You may want to try and do a hard reset/reboot which will hopefully bring the Nexus 7 back to life.

  1. Press the power button and both volume keys for several seconds. The computer screen will eventually blink off. Continue to hold until you see the Android recovery logo and the large Start selection at the top of the screen.

  2. Move the volume keys up and down to see the menu selections. If you don't want to factory reset, you can try to Power down or to Restart bootloader from these selections. The power key will select the option.

Hope that helps!

Nexus 7 will not completely turn on

The battery connector in the Nexus 7 (2012 model) is notoriously problematic. Sometimes dropping the device can cause issues that prevent the Nexus 7 from charging altogether. A hard reset may not work. Fortunately, it is quite easy to fix.

However this will void your warranty.

Pop the back of the Nexus 7 case open by pushing a credit card or guitar pick or small screwdriver under the edge of the black plastic case. Start from the top and gently pry the case open, working your way around. The back of the case will come off quite easily. The battery occupies the bulk of the left-hand side of the unit, and a group of six wires come out of the top of the battery to a connector on the circuit board. Gently push the plug out of the socket connector, wait 15 seconds, and push it back in. Snap the case back on and plug in your charger. You should now see the battery charge image appear.17d253bb-4ba9-4ee2-99ca-91507603cc78.png
