The needle threader on an Elizabeth

My experience with auto threaders has been pretty mixed. When they work, they are wonderful...When they don't, fixing them can often be a struggle. Look in your manual. See if they have quick suggestions based on your machine make/model. Posting your model here might help too--others might have suggestions

Can the automatic threader be fixed can i do it myself?

Depends what is wrong with your needle threader. Needle threaders tend to be very fragile parts so it is not uncommon for them to stop working. You may be able to replace the part if it is broken but it may be a job trying to find the part. Search the internet for parts for the make & model of your machine. Once you get the part, search the internet (YouTube) for videos showing how to replace the part.

On the other hand, it is not a serious problem if the auto-needle threader does not work. These options were not available until the most recent sewing machines were manufactured and your machine will most likely operate for many years despite the broken needle threader. Manual threading was all that was available for over 100 years.

HINT: To help make needle threading easier, lick your forefinger then swipe the back of the needle's eye. The moisture in the eye will help pull the thread through.

Auto threader wont thread

Move the needle to the top.
Loosen the screw on the threader.
Use the threader as if you are using it. You will have to adjust it to the side and up or down. Move it so the threader is in the needle hole.
Tighten the needle.
If it still doesn't work you may need to replace the threader.

www.sewingpartsonline.com have this part but list it for the Euro Pro Shark 9015

However, you could email them and double check its suitability for your model.

Cant make the auto threader work on an elna 2007

Do you mean the auto needle threader?

Mine won't work on very small needle sizes so I resort to the old manual needle threader for these. Ditto for twin needles.

Otherwise its a case of pulling the auto threader down so the hook swings into the needle eye, then pulling the thread over the face of the needle and catching it into the hook, then release the threader so it pulls back through the needle eye, taking the thread with it.

The only other thing that springs to mind is "is the needle at the top position in its stich cycle so that the threader lines up with the needle eye?

hope these ideas help a little.

AUTO THREADER CAME OUT

When you activated the threader, the needle was down and the threader came off or broke.

If it is not broken, you may be able to push it back into place.

Turn off the power and tip the machine back on some towels so it does not slip and with a flash light check the area where it fits and see if you can get it back into position.

If not, will have to thread the needle the old fashion way.

Check with your Brother dealer to see if they can look at the machine while you wait.

They may be able to get it back together or they will have to replace the threader.

It is possible they will have one in stock, or they may have to order it.

I need a replacement Auto needle threader. There seems to be no where that I can find the pat numbers for anything on the machine....Euro-Pro 9106 Deluxe Denim & Silk sewing machine.

I've never had an auto needle threader work properly for very long. My suggestion is to not bother to replace it and just relearn how to thread the needle. Sorry.

Kenmore 19606 Auto Threader

I have this machine also. Make sure your needle has been placed the right way around w/flat of back needle to back entry port. Also raise the needle up to the highest point it will go, sometime the alighmnet is off and if this doesn't work then you may need a service call. This machine is made by Janome for Kenmore, so most Janome parts will fit yours too.

Singer 2932 automatic threader

A new part is faster and easier but sometimes the problem is a bent hook( the tiny part which goes through the eye of the needle). Remove the needle to see the part better and pull the threader down. Look in the very center of the threader for the hook. It is probably pushed to the right.Using a small screwdriver or other thin piece of metal, force the hook back to the center. Try it and continue until it enters the eye again. By the way, a Singer dealer can get this part for you for under $10.
