Question about Pc America Restaurant Pro Express

Switched over processors to paymentech, still using pcCharge, can't figure out how to get my card swiper and RPE/CRE to recognize new merchant.

    But when cashing out a customer, the card swipe feeds me the error invalid merchant id. i have all that information properly put in the fields, no avail.

Hi 328,

If you are still using pcCharge, nothing in RPE/CRE changes. Your new merchant info goes into the pcCharge setup software. Let me know if this helps.

You'll definitely want to try to avoid splitting checks in general with RPE, but you should also check out the latest patch.

Best answer here is if you just installed it, you still have free tech support from PCAmerica. You paid for it, use it. Unfortunately, not all techs are created equally. If the first one is of no help, try again. With them, you rarely get the same tech.

Mike,
Although it is too late, never let a company make changes to another company's software without the other company's OK. You should be able to reverse any changes they made. If they loaded a patch to RPE, it will be listed in programs as CRE something. Uninstall it. Thyis will take you back to your original RPE setup. If they made changes to your RPE setup, a restore of a recent backup will get you back to square one. if you need more in depth help, send me an email.

Hi, seems like everyday I'm getting new problems with my system. I have CRE Database 12.0031 Product Version: 12.0.0.0 Windows XP For some reason when I try to bring up my employees' total minutes worked...


With your previuos problem and now this, it might be wise to reload RPE and SQL Server. Be sure to backup database first. Then uninstall RPE and delete all folders dealing with CRE. Uninstall SQL server and all related software. You can then install both from the CD or download.You will probably need to reregister RPE. Then restore your database.

The restaurant i'm working for is changing to pc-america's cre pos. the old pos prints the food orders and table #'s in a large font on the kitchen printer. i am looking for a way to configure cre's...


As far as I know, there is no way to change the font settings in CRE (I hope you mean RPE). But, you may be able to change the default settings in the printer itself to get larger print. Pccharge invalid trout id number


It sounds like your TroutD has somehow gotten out of synch with the last processed transactions. Usually, you can go to setup -> numbers and synchronize the TroutD to the last number used. This will usually correct the issue.

if you're using PCC, you should try to process directly through the PCC program, if that works, most likely the only thing you have to do is go in to RPE, then setup screen and set the directory where PCC is (usually this is active charge directory for payment server, or pcw for pccharge pro, they both work but i believe its only OFFICIALLY supported with payment server)
