I need to find a manual for a Vodavi phone system.
I have the model number for this system but I cannot find a programming manual. We are taking over an existing system that we did not install and unfortunately it is not a normal PBX that we deal with.

Uh oh. Are you doing something silly like trying to put a different model phone in place of the phone that's already there? Locked is used to keep you from undioing the programming of the phone type that's already there, so I'm guessing your STS system has Station Lock set. It's a function of installer programming that you can turn it off or set the type of phone to a different one.
I'd check out Station Lock ID and Station Relocation in the manual. One or the other is set in your system.
To access the System Administrator Mailbox: 1. Dial into voice mail: From any phone on system dial 150 2. When the system answers, dial [*] + [#] followed by the System Administrator Mailbox number: (# 0 0 ) The system will announce: "Mailbox 15-00", which is the System Administrator Mailbox number. 3. When requested, enter the System Administrator password. Default = +[#]+. There is no back door password .
I depends on what cards are represented on the punchdown. If there are extensions all ready working on the puchdown, the card is programmed correctly. Some cards only service 12 extensions (SLIB) and some will do 24 (DTIB).
The best way is to remove the phone line from the phone system and make it go direct to the fax. In the closet with the phone equipment. Find the fax telephone jack. Follow where the wires go(it will goto the phone system 25pr cable). Take the pair of wires off. Find the fax number that comes in from ATT. That is the location where you need to punch down the wires that come from the fax telephone jack. To test goto the fax machine pickup the phone on the side of the fax and call your cell phone to see what the caller ID is. God Bless. Jerry
