Data cable input?!

Several people in my office have looked and none of us can find it! We need to hook the copier/printer up to our network, but cannot find where to plug in the data cable. Manual is no help. Anyone know?

Re: Data cable input?!

IR400 requires a printer board fitted to it to make it network capable. The data cable goes in the socket at the rear-left of the machine.

We use a Canon 8180c in the office and it worked fine for a while on a network. (except that it changes the port everytime the power goes out) Now we can't even pick it up on the network. The lights at...

The simplest solution would be to set the printer up to use a static IP Address. It sounds like it's currently setup to get a dynamic address via DHCP - which would explain it getting a new address every time the power goes out.

If you set the printer up with a static address you can then setup each computer to use that IP port. That should maintain a direct connection that you won't lose after a power outage.

If you need additional help just reply to this solution.

IR2200 as a printer/scanner - wireless network configuration

You need to hook an ethernet cable into your network. You could get a wireless router to extend another one and connect via ethernet into that if you prefer.

For setting up network settings, do you have the Network Guide?

Go to page 2-11 and follow the instructions there.

You can click the DHCP icon and hopefully you'll get an IP address etc. (you may have to restart using switch on right hand side of copier to turn off, wait a while then turn back on). Once you have an IP address click on the DHCP icon again to make sure it's not filled in with black and save settings.

IP address must be in same range as other devices on your network e.g 192.168.1.x or 192.168.0.x (only specify a number for x between 1 and 254, must not be used by another device). Subnet mask must be same as for other devices. It's probably Canon Network ScanGear 2.21 (don't get the colour version) can be found on the Canon website (google it). Instructions for scanning are in the manual included with the download.

HP DeskJet 1220C

Hp has an excellent online support site, which will usually offer the best sequence of troubleshooting solutions for your problem, provided you can locate them. Take a look here and here, for a couple of possible options. Also try clearing the print spooler by following these instructions.
If none of that works, try resetting the printer. This can be done by turning it off, disconnecting the electrical and data cables from the printer, wait a minute or so, then restarting it with only the electrical cable connected, then turn off and reconnect the usb or data cable and restart...frequently this will sort it all out...

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Printer hooked up right but reads on the screen check network connection

If the unit states check network connection:
Check the network settings: additional functions, report settings, network, user data list, yes. Check the settings shown here. update and power cycle the unit if needed. You much power cycle after changing IP settings.
Examine the network cable. Look for link lights on the unit and where it connects to the network. Consider also taking the network cable and plug it into another device. If the other device cannot access your network, you know that it is the network side. If the other device works fine, you know that you have an issue on the copier.

Printer not receiving jobs from computers in office..HELP!

what type of connector do you use? if its network printing then check ip address, cable, and the network card of the machine if it shows light, if its usb cable check the driver or cable.
note: make sure when you press the print buttom on the machine it doesnot show offline! if it shows offline you cannot print hit go or start to make it online.
if none of this work, reset the machine by hitting 1087 twice this will take you to maintenance mode then hit 906 then start, highlight the words that come on screen by your finger then hit start, the machine will ask you to put the main power on and off, do that and you will be fine.
Best Regards
