SOURCE: Laptop turns off intantly, when I unplug the charging cord

For those of you having the problem of a HP laptop shutting off when you unplug the charger and your battery is fully charged, I can help you. There is nothing wrong with the laptop, battery, or computer, it is a power management setting. If you go to display properties, select the screen saver tab, then click the "power" button, in the power schemes field is a drop down window, click on it and select "Rixane Power Scheme", it is a power switching utility that quickly switches between AC and Battery when the power cable/charger is plugged in or unplugged while the laptop is on. If you have it set to "always on" it will shut off when you pull the power cord, even if the battery is charged. This will also happen on many non-HP laptops, if you don't have a HP laptop or there is not a "Rixane" option available, select the "Portable/Laptop" power scheme. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: ok i got a hp g60 and its weird cause the battery

Whenyou connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? Ifnot then - The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's powersocket could be faulty. Check power adapter's DCplug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltageshould be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on thebottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that isprinted on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK thenconnect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/batterycharging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED lightstays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder jointwhere it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but itrequires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket andrepair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

Hi:
This is due to a faulty DC to DC converter IC on the laptop mother board, this part is not replaceable, you must replace the mother board as the chip is part of the motherboard.

Charging my juke with a usb cord

Fully charge the battery to maximize playing time. However, it is not necessary to fully charge or completely discharge the battery each time. You can charge the battery by connecting the jukebox either to the AC power adapter (fastest) or to a USB port on the computer. The battery icon in the upper right corner of the screen indicates the remaining battery charge.
  1. Connect the USB combo cable to the AC power adapter, and then plug the power adapter into an AC power outlet. Or, you can connect the USB combo cable to a USB port on the computer.
  2. Plug the combo cable into the jukebox. Make sure that the top of the plug (the side with the arrows) is facing the same direction as the front of the jukebox.
    View Picture
  3. If you are charging your jukebox from the computer's USB cable, turn your jukebox off. If your jukebox is on, it cannot charge from the computer's USB cable. Note: If you are charging your jukebox from the AC power adapter, you can leave your jukebox on as it charges, but it will take longer to charge.

  4. If the jukebox is on, the power cord icon appears in the upper right corner of the display. The keypad's backlight turns on while the battery charges, and then turns off when the battery is fully charged.
  5. When your jukebox battery is finished charging, pinch the two side buttons on the plug, and then pull the plug out of the jukebox.

Ifthe laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. 1) Ensure you're fully charging. Indicator light on charging unit should NOT get brighter at all when you unplug the helicopter. If it does, then plug helicopter back into charger until light stays the same when you unplug. Note: If you're charging with a usb charger and are using a laptop or the front side data port on your desktop, these may take several hours to fully charge as they are usb 2.0 and do not carry the full 5 volt dc charge. Use powered usb (3.0) on back of desktop, or get a usb/ac adapter. Normal charge time approximately 1 hour. Go by the light, though.
2) Don't run them dead. As soon as you can no longer maintain altitude, land and turn off helicopter. Fully discharging a Li/Po battery (particularly when it's new) will cripple it's ability to hold a charge, and can ruin them.

hope this helps

Will not hold a charge

Check when the adapter is plugged if the battery is charging correctly and if it charges to the full. Leave it one for about a day and check if charged , Now check the time it works ,till you fully discharge and repeat the process.
But if the battery is not holding charge, try for final with your carr charger or one from a friend beffroe wee can fully confirm the battery is faulty . Replace ONLY with the original from the dealer with the warrranty.
helpful I hope. Good day

My laptop is fully charged but then when i unplug the ac adapter it says 0% battery

This is a typical indication that the battery has failed & need to be replaced. In your case, the battery only holds a tiny charge. That's why when you unplug the AC adapter it says 0% battery.

Charging Problems

Try a different known working outlet just to make sure that its not putting out to much voltage and making the ac adapter to hot.

You also may want to try a different battery to make sure the battery isn't affecting the ac adapter.

If you do this and you are still having this problem then it could be a problem with the cells inside of the battery and you'll have to replace the ac adapter.

New 6600 mAh battery won't charge

Is the AC adapter the original that came with the laptop or is it a replacement?
Check the label on the laptop (on the bottom of the laptop) for the voltage and current requirements.
Check voltage output of the adapter with a multimeter, this voltage should be slightly higher that the voltage than what is shown on the adapter's label because there is no load on the adapter.
It could be that the current (amps) that the adapter is delivering less power than the laptop's requirements, whilst it can power the laptop it may not be sufficient to charge the battery fully.
Try charging the battery overnight by shutting down the laptop but leaving it connected to the mains. Then boot up the laptop in the morning and check the battery's charge state. If the battery is at or near full capacity, then the problem is a (part) faulty adapter.

Toshiba satellite A210 11-P crashes when i disconnect the power lead

From Toshiba, try step-charging the battery or Battery conditioning procedures:

Batteries don't last forever. All types of batteries gradually lose their ability to hold an electrical charge as they age. Eventually, the computer's battery charge indicator may show that the battery contains less than a full charge, even though the battery has just been fully charged. The computer will then not run for as long a time from the battery as when the battery was brand new.
You may prefer to simply replace the battery if this happens, but you may also wish to try 'step-charging' the existing battery per the following instructions.
This procedure should work for the battery in any Toshiba notebook. Follow it only when you find that the computer will run from the battery for just a short while.
Check the User's Guide for more specific information about charging the battery in your computer .

Procedure

Step-charging the computer's battery

  1. Unplug the AC adapter from the computer, and turn ithe computer on. Let the computer run from battery power until the computer turns off, indicating that the battery is fully discharged. Time this interval, but not with a software clock running on the same computer.

  2. Remove the battery pack from the computer.

  3. Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.

  4. Wait at least 30 seconds. The first time through this procedure, use a soft cloth to wipe the battery pack's contacts and the AC adapter's plug.

  5. Re-insert the battery pack.

  6. Plug into the AC adapter into the computer again and check the fit of its plug in the wall outlet, making sure the connection is secure.

  7. With the computer turned off, let the battery charge until the battery status light or icon glows green, or otherwise indicates a full charge.

  8. Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.

  9. Remove the battery.

  10. Wait at least 30 seconds, then re-insert the battery.

  11. Plug the AC adapter back into the computer.

  12. Let the battery charge again until the battery status light turns green or otherwise indicates a full charge, again.
Repeat this procedure, starting from step 1, at least three times. Each time, check to see if the computer runs longer from its battery than the previous time.

Battery Conditioning:
IMPORTANT!!
Interruptions in the charging cycle can be responsible for an issue called "memory effect" which may reduce the battery's charging capacity. Whenever you suspect the battery performance is not at it's optimum you should try using the following "Battery Conditioning" procedure.

Before you start: Turn off your battery saving features temporarily.

***IMPORTANT*** Repeat the following steps 2-3 times!

  1. Unplug the power cord from the computer
  2. Turn the computer on and let it run until it shuts itself off.
Note: Using the CD-ROM to play an Audio CD will speed the discharge.
  3. Plug in the power cord (While the system is off) charge the battery until the battery light changes from flashing green to solid green
  4. Remove the battery for 30 seconds and then replace it.
Note: If the battery light isn't lit, wait a few moments, if it still does not light check your power connections.
  5. Continue charging the battery until the battery light turns solid green once again.
    **REPEAT THIS PROCEDURE 3 TIMES**

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
