I am having a problem connecting a VCR to my new Hitachi 42" HD TV. The manual does not help me. Is there anything written down somewhere that I can follow?
Connect your 211 to the DVD with component cables, and the DVD to the
TV also with component cables. That will enable you to record from the
211 to the DVD, and also watch from the DVD to the TV.
Now, connect the 211 (the 211 will output to both the component and the
HDMI at the same time) directly to the TV with your DVI-HDMI cable.
Naturally you'll have to complete your connections for sound following
the same idea.
Now using the different inputs on your TV, you can source from the 211 or the DVD, and be able to use the DVD to record as well.--------------OR TRY THIS WAY----------DVDVCR needs to use rca (yellow/white/red) plugs as input. Your TV has
outputs for that (tv out/ audio out), that will enable your to tape
shows from the TV. That's the first connection.
Then connect the green/blue/red outs of the DVD/VCR to the respective in's of the TV. OK, that unit is done.
Now, the 211 to the TV. Using your HDMI to DVI cable (which only provides video as you noted) connect the 211 to the TV.
Now, the audio from the 211 to the TV we can connect.... no way. The
answer is that you are going to have to split the red and white plugs
from the 211 to the TV and VCR inputs, that's the only way I can see.

I also can not connect my Turtle Beach x11 headphones to the Audio output on this TV - I have tried entering the code above but to no evail - sounds like there is a hidden problem here
Yes. 1) Connect the cable from the Satellite to the input of the VCR 2) Connect the VCR Output to the TV (Either Coax or RCA). 3) Tune the VCR to Channel 60. 4) Enjoy your Satellite programing...
Hi,you have not said weather you are using a scart lead(euro connecter)or an RF lead,if you are using the later don't,please connect the vcr to the tv via the scart to scart euro connecters, use a good quality scart lead(the thicker the better)as the thicker ones generally are 21 pins connected meaning it should be auto switching so as soon as you play a tape it will come straight on.
you need 2 pairs of audio/video cables
from the back of ur tv set you can see (audio out---video out)
now insert cables in your tv set.. then connect to your vcr (audio in---video in)
there is no cable slot. the monitor is not a receiver. it has no tuner in it. it will need a signal from a tuner box. and that must be fed to the tv with an hdmi cable or a dvid cable for hd to work. see your manual for further information on cables. see your cable supplier for information on hd boxes available in your area. if you do not buy hd service, you will not get an hd signal. so you will see little difference from a non hd device. your dvd player may have hd capabilities, but will also need the same cable to deliver true hd signal. the good news is that its fixable by using the right equipment. good luck mark
