Question about Saeco Aroma Espresso Machine
Started failing two days ago, same grind as always. Tried descaling, didn't help. Running water through a basket, will sometimes clear it after a popping sound. Is the porta filter repairable?

I think you have to replace the gasket in the machine where the portafiller fits on the machine.
Make sure your filter is clean before you replace any gasket.

SOURCE: Steam nozzle leaking
Hi! hope i'm not too late, since this leaking problem occur's quite often, specially when one's tends to overtight the valve, the proposed solutios will certainly help thousand of happy Saeco owners.
Anyway i happened to live with it but after a second valve replacement, i got fed up with filling too often the reservoir and fixed it at Zero cost. What i did is realy easy:
1- Find a bearing the size of the plunger of the needle valve; the thiny steel ball in a nail polish bottle is what i used.
2- When the electric cord is pulled off the wall outlet, take the cover off, reach to the snap locker and pull it off.
3- Unscrew the needle valve plunger off the cylinder, grind or file the
tip 3/16 of an inch, making sure it is at rite angle cut.
4- Insert the ball in the valve body and push it with the flattened tip
over the vapor down stream and screw. You now have a new valve that will outlast your coffe maker.

Try descaling the machine. If there is no water getting to the brew unit then it might be blocked, if you checked the brew unit then the blockage might be at the boiler or one of the lines.

Has the size of you ground coffee changed? If it is not the size of granulated sugar then its your grinder. Check ebay completed listings. Saw one there couple weeks ago.

SOURCE: I have a Saeco Royal
Its not the water. More than likley its the lever on the right side of the machine at the top middle of the door. Its pushed all the way to the back or positive. Move it 1 mark towards the front of the machine and try again. If you put too much coffee in the brew unit, it can't compress it and kicks it out. It could also be your grind is too coarse. It should look like auto drip coffee.
