It is probably a GPU overheat issue where the BGA chip has desoldered itself.
Reballing the GPU should fix it.

Flickering screen, loud buzzing sound, self boot down.

Color wheel bad. Makes rumbling sound. Bad bearings. Has to spin about 10,000 RPMs and sync to DLP chip. Here: https://www.encompassparts.com/webwiz/wwiz.asp?wwizmstr=WEB.SEE&partnumber=5933777&smodel=HLR5067WX/XAA

My Toshiba A205 started up with a distorted screen. The Toshiba start up screen has yellow letters on a green background. The blue log in screen has swirls of distortion. I can read the text in any program...

Try repositioning the screen in different angles. If it clears up even if only for a minute, the it is most likely the cable or ribbon cable running from the LCD to the motherboard. If not, It may still be a broken wire in the bundle or something more serious like the inverter card or the video chip. The wires on the bundle usually break over time at the point where the bundle runs up by the hinge of the LCD.

Flickering multi-colored line in the middle of the screen.

You have a failure in the vertical deflection circuit. This could be either a bad vertical chip, the power supply that runs the chip or a bad capacitor in that circuit. This is usually a repair best left to a professional. There is a small possibility that it could be bad solder connections. If genlty tapping the unit temporarily solves the issue you can try and resolder the pins on the vertical chip LA7841 is the part number. There is also a resistor 1 ohm 1 watt. If that resistor is open you can assume the IC is bad
