There are plenty of free, online virus scanners.
Simply Google "online virus scanner".
Go with reputable names, like Kaspersky, Avast, AVG, HouseCalls (TrendMicro), Panda, ..., etc.
Anyone of the above should do the job.
After cleaning, you need to install a good virus scanner that updates itself automatically at boot-up.

SOURCE: Lock a folder
To my knowledge, this is not possible with the registry. You can change permissions so that only your account can access the folder, or you can make the folder hidden.

unless you are really set on using adobe's reader i strongly suggest using another reader like FOXIT READER ---
Adobe is a bloated, slow resource hog.
Be sure to uninstall Adobe Reader first though.

Right click on the shortcut and copy the url.
Create a new shortcut and paste the url into the location, give it a name then save the new shortcut.
The new shortcut should appear on your desktop with the icon of the website. You can then delete the old shortcut.
Unfortunately, this seems to be the only way to get the proper icon. You can click on the change icon button when you're viewing the propertis of the shortcut but the icon of the website will not be displayed.
