Try pressing the "speakers" switch in front of the receiver it should click and show speaker A or B or A&B.If the switch doesn't respond then plug a pair of headphones to the front of the unit and then unplug the headphones as soon as you unplug it your speakers will start working.
Have you connected the Left speaker to the right speaker using the supplied cable? If not, connect the cable to the socket on the back of the right speaker labelled "to left speaker" and on the left speaker, to the socket labelled "from right speaker" If this still doesn't solve the problem, try swapping the input cables (put the white plug in the red socket and vice versa) to see if this makes the left speaker produce sound, if it does, check the connection at the source to check the plug(s) are in all the way. If there is still no sound in the left speaker, unplug everything and do the following: connect the left and right speakers with the supplied phono lead (Probably black) between sockets labelled "to left speaker" and "from right speaker" then connect the source to any of the inputs on the back of the right speaker (ensure if using the red and white phono inputs that both are connected) finally plug in power source. Hope this helps
If you mean the pale green jack on the back of the monitor, it is not a headphone jack. It is to let you connect the sound output from your computer (usually also a green jack) to a little speaker in the monitor. That speaker is better than nothing, but sound quality is poor.
Well the jack you plug in has three surfaces. So when you pulled it part way out then the left speaker part of the plug came in contact with the right speaker contact inside the jack and it worked. Speakers are good so if you have checked your volume control in Windows and checked that the balance control is centered it could be that your sound card is defective. You didn't tell me what kind of computer you have and if the sound card is built into the motherboard or if it is an add on card. I don't know if you only have the Window's sound control in Control Panel or if your card has a seperate software for configuring your card but I think the only thing that might disable the left speaker has to be the balance control in Window's sound control or the seperate software.
1. Check that the speaker input cable or input jack is not damaged. Do this but plugging in some other speakers or headphones into the computer and plugging the speakers into a MP3 player or cd player.
carefully plug back the minijack for the speaker at the out or spk,
normally the sound card has three ports 1. for MIC 2. LINE IN 3.OUT (SPK) - SPEAKER.
carefully plug the minijack for the speaker into the third one - OUT (SPK) - SPEAKER.
in pluging it in, first put on a media clip on the windows media player and carefully plug in the minijack for the speaker and surely you will hear sound.
I had this very same problem and I had my system for about 2 weeks. I have seen a lot of similar posts on this site so it seems that this problems happens a lot. For some reason my right speaker just stopped working so i came to this site for help. I looked at alot of posts and nothing fixed the problem. when i switched the right speaker to the left input it started to work so I knew the speakers were fine. So i finally decided to unplug everything and restart my laptop. Once my laptop rebooted I plugged the sub back into the wall after about a minute of it being not plugged in. Then I plugged all the the wires and volume control back into the sub and turned the switch back on. Make sure the volume control is down when you plug everything back in. Then plug the wire into the device, which in my case was a laptop, and start to play some tunes. Right away everything was working perfectly fine again and no problems ever since...for me atleast.
