SOURCE: How much coffee?

Fill it as full as you can with fine ground coffee. I cut the resulting brew with an equal amount of boiling water. Called an "Americano" in Italy.

SOURCE: I just purchased a Bialetti

There is a valve in the compartment where you place your fresh, cold water. This valve must not be covered as it is necessary in building up steam pressure to push the brewed espresso upwards. Also, most stove espresso makers have a rubber type gasket that is usually placed on the base of the upper part of the maker. Check that you have a gasket.

SOURCE: I melted the rubber seal

I have the same problem. Scraped most of the rubber off mine with a knife. I'm going to try steel-wool next, as the whole thing is stainless-steel (or perhaps in your case, Aluminium), it should take a good sound beating.
I wonder if there are any solvents that would dissolve the rubber?

The little side on/ off push button is broken on my red bialetti mokissima trio Can this part be replaced?

Acording with that part is not avaliable for replacement, someone who's familiar fixing electrodomestic stuff might give you a better opinion, if can make the trick for you for a few bucks or you can check if is just spring missing, if anything looks right, it could be a fuse inside but you have to open it to check, if you never fix nothing electric before, get some of your friends can check it for you on your presence, never ever leave your machine with no body, you can see it for the las time if you leave it with some one you dont know very well, like your husband or son.
