Question about Maytag Atlantis MDE7400AY Electric Dryer
Have a MDE7400AYQ Atlantis model with IntelliDry.S/N 10733087AT. Dryer did not start when pulled "on". Ordered new P/N 33002802. New timer has one less contact blade and will not advance. Original Maytag P/N 6 3721230 does not appear in the search database. What P/N timer should I use? Where can I find it? P.S. Intellidry lights do not work with either Time.

The groaning sound seems as if the belt is broaken and the motor is trying to spin a little too fast because it doesn't have a load on it. Take a look to see if the belt is broken and if so, you can purchase a replacement belt at Lowes for approximately $7.00.

if not able to remove rear panel, you will need to start, like most models, take top cover off and hinge back to wall then remove frt cover including door as a whole assy. lift up drum put new belt on drum ( and position in same area as old belt,it will have marks on drum from where original belt was on drum) then put rest of belt over mtr pulley and then idler pulley, turn drum by hand to align belts and put it back together in reverse order

Howdy: It seems the "smart switch settings" has died. It is in the switching circuit. It all comes in one unit. Take it out and have it tested at an appliance store. Good luck - Doug

Check the door interlock switch. If it is defective, the machine will not start. If no help, then there may be trouble in the control panel.

It would help to know why you replaced the original timer.
Otherwise, you should unplug the dryer, take your wiring diagram and re-check every wire for accuracy.
Take a volt meter after you resume power and start the dryer. Carefully touch the meter leads to the 2 timer wire leads to make sure the timer is getting power.
A bad auto-dry sensor and or a bad control thermostat will stop the timer from advancing.
