Question about Exercise & Fitness

1 Answer

Hi, I have a NordicTrack T5.7. When I plug it in & turn it on, it seems as though the screen is "running" without the belt running & tracking an exercise without the safety key on. But when I put the safety key on, everything goes to zero, I can't start it at all & none of the buttons work or make noise. The "Home" "Enter" & "Display" buttons are the only ones to make noise but do not do anything. Is there a way to fix this problem myself?

BEFORE performing this solution Make sure power to this unit is turned off and unplugged!!!!!
Most if not all treadmills have some form of safety device that checks yo make sure the tread main rollers are aligned with the motor. ussualy on the frame or little tin flange near the main drive roller, it could be a small switch or an IR sensor but WILL be very near ie: 1/8th of an inch or so. these often get there tin flange bent during moving, cleaning, lubrication etc. ( His little tin flange got bent sounds like a bad misfit toy story) If this is the case simply straighten or realign the sensor Your owners manual may even refer to this sensor.
I hope this helps

see the video attached. lube the rollers bearing front+back . Test the drive belt motor for to loose or faulty belt, and fix it.
However if the problem persist, TIME to replace the old board deck.

God bless you

My Nordictrack X9i treadmill console says it is operating at speed, however the track is not moving. Occasionally the belt will move for just a moment then it stops.

Nordictrack exp 1000 trips safety and stops abruptly...

Inspect belt and deck. The deck should be smooth without any grooves, pits, or exposed wood. The belt should have a consistent ridged feel from one side of the belt to the other (a belt can be worn out without any sensory signs of a problem). If you feel deep grooves in the deck or uneven wear on the underside of the belt, part replacement is necessary. Visually look at the underside of the belt. It should have a consistent look. Black streaks in the belt are a sign of bottom-layer wear through. Very worn belts will feel smooth in the areas you normally walk- you would think smooth is good but not in belts because the smoother the belt, the more contact area. Continued use of your treadmill may damage expensive electrical components. 85% of all Treadmill problems are cause by worn belt and deck I would revisit the scene of the crime again.

How do you adjust or tighten the belt on the Nordic Track A2750 The belt is riding to one side of the platform

If the walking belt is off-center, remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. If the walking belt has shifted to the left, use the hex key to turn the left idler roller bolt clockwise 1/2 of a turn; if the walking belt has shifted to the right, turn the left idler roller bolt counterclockwise 1/2 of a turn. Be careful not to overtighten the walking belt. Plug in the power cord, insert the key, and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is centered

The track stops when you put weight on it.

It sounds as though you do not have enough tension on the running belt or the belt that drives the front roller from the motor is slipping. You need to identify which is the culprit and then adjust to get more tension.
