Question about OKI Pacemark 4410 Matrix Printer
Hi, my oki microline 4410 printer prints at times on its own when no document is sent to it:it gives a continuos tone and prints odd characters.i switched it of for an hour and when i switched it back on it was ok but when it was idle fo some time in started printing on its own again with the same continous sound. My oki printer uses parallel port cable...pls i need a solution to this problem
Your problem is either a bad parallel cable(maybe just loose) , or the printer port is is sending out noise. These units tend to do what they are told...and something is telling it to print these characters. Try pulling the cable off and see if it ever prints anything.

This sounds like it is doing something called a "hex dump" basicaly printing all ASCII characters. okis tend to do this from time to time if l;eft on for a significant period with no data sent to it. the only advice given by oki is to switch it off when not using it unfortunatly Hope this helps Cops Pete@wedotoners.com
