Question about Foxconn 925XE7AA-8EKRS Motherboard

1 Answer

No video I am setting up a barebones kit and have made all the connections shown in the manuel, including the hard drive, floppy and dvd /cd burner. when the system was turned on, the lights on the case lit up, and the fans were running, but NO VIDEO! (There were no beeps either) I have tried reseating the cpu, putting in a different video card and resetting the cmos jumpers. What else could be the problem? Bad motherboard?

There's no way to check on this is there. I have heard from one computer tech here in Topeka that he's had nothing but trouble with Inter and socket 775. Is that accurate?

I have ordered a new cpu. I hope it works!

Does it appear that everything is booting up, hard drive spinning? But a blank video screen with nothing at all? I had this several times happen to me and it's always been a bad CPU.

The only way that you can check to see if your CPU is bad is if you have another known working computer that has a motherboard with that same socket. Then you could put it in there and see if you have that same problem. But I'm 99% sure that it's a bad CPU, I've ran into this a lot in my repair business. I've never dealt with that specific board, but Intel typically makes good boards.

Here's a site where you can buy a new CPU.
    http://www.geeks.com/products_sc.asp?cat...

You might also check on ebay.

  • Peter Burns Oct 10, 2007

When you install the new CPU, make sure you apply thermal compound between the CPU and heat sink. If not, you'll have an over-heating problem and your new CPU will be toast in seconds.

Test the leads that attach to your ((hard drive from the motherboard)) or replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your ((motherboard to hard drive))
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections needs its connections continue its cycle and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

Got a hard drive error. Replaced it and when trying to reload software, it will not recognize the new drive. Is there a special boot disk I need to use other than the recovery disk?

Problem for Dell PowerEdge 2450 Server CD/DVD ROM

Hi,

Its doubtful that its the cables. Can you tell me what type of DVD/CD you have? For example SATA or IDE. Look at the picture below, these are hard drives but the connections on the optical drives are the same>>>>>

ba6371f.jpg

If the interface is IDE then check the jumper settings if they are both on the same cable.
Also check another CD/DVD in the drives.

Let me know how you get on.

Regards.
