Wireless internet connection constantly disconnects
I've had this laptop for two years and it has always simply disconnected from the internet in the middle of whatever I am doing.
It is incredibly frustrating and it causes me to lose whatever I was working on. I thought it was my Linksys router but after trying everything with Linksys techs, they sent me a new one. The same trouble continues to happen. I am in the same room with my wireless set-up most of the time when this happens, but it happens no matter where I am, as well.
It will say "you are not connected to the internet" and I have to hit the "repair" button and wait for it to reconnect-losing all my work in the meantime. It has happened 18 times in the last four hours of using it-that is a typical, daily occurance! I am ready to throw it out the window!
Has anyone else had this trouble and if so, have you found a solution?
Since I have owned it, my cursor jumps all over the place in emails and word docs, too. Can't seem to find a solution to that either even though I went on-line and found sites that offered their same problems and no one seems to be able to stop it. I am really regretting this purchase.

If your Toshiba Satellite notebook computer is equipped with a wireless Internet card, you can connect to a Wi-Fi access point by turning on the wireless switch on the side of the laptop. However, the signal may not always be picked up by your wireless receiver; if that is the case, you will need to check your wireless-network settings and reconfigure the network connections manually.
Open the Network Settings program. Click on the Control Panel in your "Programs" bar and select "Network Settings." This will give you options for modifying how you connect to the Internet. Select "Connect to a Network" or "Show Network Status and Tasks." Both selections will show you whether you are disconnected from the wireless network. Select "Manage Network Connections." This selection is located on the left side of the window; clicking on it will show you whether you are connected to a local area connection or wireless network connection. Engage the wireless connection. Turn your wireless switch to "On," then right-click on the wireless network connection. Select "Connect/Disconnect." Wait for the IP address acquisition. It may take a few minutes for your Toshiba Satellite to pick up the signal and transmit your IP address. When this is complete, you will see the word "Connected" next to the name of your wireless connection, and a series of bars that indicate signal strength. Launch your favorite browser to access the Internet using the wireless connection.
Reason :- 1.Make sure your acer aspire is in range. 2.cheack is it your wireless disconnecting and reconnecting or is it your internet disconnecting and reconnecting. 3.Are you facing this issue with any other machine or is this the only one. If this is the only computer in which your wifi connection is dropping then there is issue with wireless connectivity.
solution:- 1.Turn of your router and modem and then check the wireless connectivity. If issue still persist then:- 2.Create a new network name and wireless security key and then connect to it:- Now check the wireless stability whether is it still disconnecting an reconnecting or is it stable now.
If issue still persist then bright your laptop close to router and then check wifi disconnecting any more or not if not then change the channel to 1 or 11 from your wireless router page.
Let me know if this worked for you or not. If worked then please rate my solution.
I would say you need a new battery, if when you disconnect the charger your losing your wireless connection, you need more power to hold the wireless connection or that make sure when you remove your charger press your wireless button near your volume control on laptop to make sure its on, blue, not off red ok
Switch off the power to your wireless router for 1/2 min. and power iy up again, wait until the LEDs are lit and then bootup your laptop.
If you didn't change any settings you should be OK.
If you still have problems get back to me with the error messages.
Does it reconnected again then? Or it never reconnects on the AC? I would try different channels on the wireless router first. Hopefully that will solve the problem do to some interference. If not, report back and I have other things you can try.
