The Clarions have an anti-theft feature that prevents the radio working if removed from the vehicle or if the 9000's battery is disconnected and then reconnected. This feature helps make the radio less desirable to thieves.

Obtain the Clarion's 4 digit reset code that came with the player paperwork or from a dealership.
Put the car's ignition key in the ignition and turn to the "On" position to power the Clarion radio. Turn on the radio. The radio will beep and will not function.
Press and hold the "Band" button until four dashes are displayed on the Clarion display.
Enter the reset code by pressing the corresponding numbers on the radio's channel preset buttons. The code is six digits, using the numbers 1 through 6. These digits coincide with channel preset buttons 1 through 6. The radio will begin working properly once the code has been entered correctly.
NOTE;If you make an error while entering the reset code, finish entering digits to complete that attempt. The radio will beep and not reset. Press and hold the "Band" button until four dashes are displayed again and enter the correct reset code.
