Problem uploading photos from SD card

I can view the photos I took when the card is in the camera, but when I try uploading them to my computer, I get an error message about a codec error. There are 3 movies and 20 or so still photos on the card. It is a SanDisk 2.0 GB card and I'm using a Sandisk card reader.

Sorry to say, but that codec pack didn't help at all....here's the exact message I get after downloading the codec pack and trying to run the movies:
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."
and, none of the still photos are displaying when I try seeing them in Dell Image Expert or reading them when I go to "my computer" and click on the USB port for the card reader...
Could the problem be related to the fact I downloaded a recent version of Adobe Acrobat and it installed a trial version of Adobe Photoshop????

If the SD card is not recognized in the PC or it is impossible to access the data on it, the controller on the card is damaged. There is only one way to get the data back, unsolder memory chips and directly access their raw data with a programable chip reader. Software can't help, that is a physical damage. This helped me:http://card-recovery.biz/us/service.ph

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO A COMPUTER
If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos and to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

When i remove the sd card to upload photos to my computer my new pictures are not there but are when the sd card is in the camera?

There are two possibilities that I can think of. 1) The SD card is full. You will need to copy the pictures off the SD card and onto your computer, then format the card. You can probably do this in the camera, but MAKE SURE you have copied the pictures you want to your computer because the format will erase everything. 2) The SD card is write protected. Look closely at the SD card there is a little slide switch that "locks" the SD card so that your camera cannot put any pictures on it. This slide switch must be in the unlocked position (or NOT locked).
Hope this helps.

Hello. You can transfer it without the USB cord and camera IF you have an SD card reader. Some computers have already built in card reader, so if your computer have one, just insert the SD card and start uploading. But if your computer doesn't have it, then you need to get a card reader, insert the SD card into it, and then insert the card reader into a USB slot in you computer. Card readers are really cheap.

Pictures not loading to computer

It sounds like you don't have software on your PC that will recognize the camera when connected. I am going to recommend that you do not use the camera to upload photos. It is better practice to use external (SD) memory cards and remove them from the camera to upload. You can use a USB SD reader or purchase SD cards with a built-in USB interface. You should be able to see a new drive when connecting the SD card to your computer; then all you need to do is copy over the images. One advantage is that you will save camera battery while uploading because you dont need the camera at all. It also allows you to take images with you without taking the camera, i.e. school or work. I hope this helps...californiajones7889e54.jpg67432f4.jpg4db3d64.jpg
