Your wireless keypad may be flashing the red light to falsely assure you that it is working when, in fact, it is not. Another possibility is that the receiver has failed.

I have a Liftmaster garage remote keypad that I would like to change the code to. I don't know what model it is, but one code opens one side, and another codes opens the 2nd side

The easiest way to reset the code is to clear the opener memory and reprogram all remotes and keypads. First press and hold the learn button on the back of the motor for 10 sec. Do the same on the other motor. Now you are ready to program. First press and release learn button and then press and hold the remote button that you want to program. The lightbulb on the motor will flash once. For the keypad, press and release learn button. Then press 4 digit code and then press and hold enter until lightbulb flashes one time on motor. Repeat this process for each remote and keypad.

Flash takes too long

Its all relative. With most of these compact cameras, to conserve power, the camera does not always keep the flash ready to fire at any given second. Firing the flash uses a lot of juice, so if it was always at the ready, the battery life would be reduced to half or less, which would would cause more problems.

When you press the button the camera then tries to cycle up enough flash power that it thinks it will need to light the scene correctly. This will require less time if its in the day and longer if its dark.
Add more time if the battery life is low.

Once you fire the flash and exhaust all the reserve power from the buffer, the camera will need to recycle itself to garner enough power for another flash, this again adds time.

More expensive cameras have better power management and can cycle up faster.
