SOURCE: My wife's laptop fell and now the registry is

The registry is THE program that tells your computer, essentially, how to run--what steps to take to load the various setup aspects etc. that have been compiled for your computer. It is not hardware, it is part of software. If you have a restore function, and you can get to it (maybe through going to safe mode--check your manual for how to get to that). you might be able to get things back, but you may have to wind up reformatting the hard disk, which means you lose everything on the computer. Actually, there are two copies of the registry. In case one gets corrupted, the machine will try to boot the other one, so if your machine is, with several reboot tries, not able to get the registry, then you have a significant software problem.

It keeps freezing and i have reset it several times and it just freezes

Your computer may be freezing because it probably doesn't have enough RAM, since it is a netbook. Try not to open too many programs at once, because that will make a computer with a low amount of RAM freeze. Hope that helps.

How to fix a frozen screne

The cause of the freezing, or locking up, of your computer, is due to some either corrupted or missing files. And more specifically, missing or corrupted registry files. These are the files which tell everything on your how it is suppose to work. Basically, they are configuration files. And if these files get corrupted, or messed up, it can wreck havoc.

Sometimes the registry files end up missing. This can happen when you uninstall software from your computer. The software being uninstalled may remove registry files also associated with another program. There should be a message asking you whether or not you want to delete the files as they are associated with another program. Your best bet is to say NO to this and leave the files. If the files end up missing, then the program which needs them will stall, hang, or freeze the next time it tries to run. But there is a simple way to fix this.

By just running registry scan software on your computer, you can find these problems and fix them right away. It will let you know which files are bad, and will fix them to its original state. And it is this simple step which will show you how to fix your computer freezing.

Trying to full system recovery, but showing error 15

  • error 15 = Exception was not allocated.
  • The registry is corrupted. The structure of one of the files containing registry data is corrupted, or the system's memory image of the file is corrupted, or the file could not be recovered because the alternate copy or log was absent or corrupted.
