Most computers come with 2 sticks of RAM. If yours only has one skip to the bottom.
Step 1
Start by reinstalling your RAM memory. Pull the pins on each side then remove the sticks of RAM. They should be in there pretty firm. DONT wiggle them out, just pull straight up. Then put them back in with the pins still "out". They should be firm to go in as well, again DONT wiggle just push straight down. Both the side pins should lock into place on there own once the RAM is back place properly.
Step 2
If this still doesnt solve it, pull both back out and only put one back in. If that doesnt work, put the other one in only. If still not working try the next step
Step 3
Uninstall all Ram sticks and reinstall just one in one of the slots. If that doesnt work install same stick in a different slot. If that doesnt work, use a different RAM Stick.

I still did not find beep code that match your problem..

Anyways here are the common beep codes for your motherboard.. it might help you too.
1. No beep - no reaction, the mother board is dead, power supply problem, processor and or ram problem.
2. 1beep - board is working fine.
3. One long beep then it shuts down - cpu problem, your processor is not working or missing.
4. 1short beep - system boots normally
5. 2short beeps - CMOS setting error.
6. 1long 1short beep - dram error
7. 1long 2 short beep - video card or monitor not connected
8. 1long 3 short beep - keyboard error.
9. 1long 9short beep - ROM error
10. Long beep - memory card is missing or not connected
11. Short beep - power supply error
12 Four beeps - there is no fan detected on Fan1 or Fan2 header. make sure to attach or reset CMOS bios to factory setting.

SOURCE: Bios Beeps during reboot

According to the information at:

http://www.pchell.com/hardware/beepcodes.shtml

AMI beep codes of 1 long and 3 short are, in fact, correctly identified as memory errors. One thing to note is if this memory is Dual Channel, you can only install the memory in groups of two. You must first fill DIMM slot 1 and 3 before filling DIMM slots 2 and 4.

The below website has much more information about your particular motherboard and there's a note about some JEDEC setting for memory that you might want to watch out for or disable to see if it improves stability.

http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=K9A2_CF-F_V2&class=mb

As for Windows XP 32-bit not recognizing more than 3.5 (at most) memory, this is unavoidable. To see all 8 GB, you would need a 64-bit version of Windows. This is something that cannot be altered by BIOS or memory choices, unfortunately. Feel lucky in the fact that you have XP Pro as XP Home will only recognize up to 2.5GB. You'll never utilize all 8GB unless you upgrade your OS, so keep that in mind!

SOURCE: Computer doesn't start...it keeps beeping

The Beep pattern is the motherboard trying to tell you what the problem is, and the beeps differ accross different manufacturers. As you still have PC access, do an internet search for the <Manufacturer> beep codes, ie "ASUS beep codes" - alternatively this site may help. http://www.pchell.com/hardware/beepcodes.shtml.
Alternatively I would try reseating processor and removing all but one stick of memory (and reseat it) and unplugging all but graphics card to see if this "gets it going" - if so reintroduce one component at a time until you find which one causes the beeps.

How to fix my gateway DX4870-UB20P that overheats

The best that you can do is to make certain that all of the fans turn and are clear of dust, cat hair and other blockages.
Also the case is designed for air to flow thru it with the covers in place.
You may wish to add an additional fan to blow into the case.

How can I get my Gateway desktop to recognize my Projector?

it has to be set up as an additional monitor/display. so, there are settings to set up the displays as either twins, unique seperate or something like that. have not had to do it. but i know that the graphics have to be able to recognize what format the signal is. pc settings change and graphics setttings change. have you done both? the projector should have had instructions? if not look for the manual online.

Just upgraded Vista to Windows 7. Now when computer boots, it repeatedly beeps (so many times I can't count them), then asks which OS I want to start with. Only Windows 7 is listed. It starts fine.

Hello, if your computer peeps on startup it could be that your keyboard is stuck somehow thats why it beeps, it is sending and interupt request. try checking your keyboard to be sure its not stuck. happy new year
