If you hear the motor running but only the water pumps out, you probably need a new coupler. These are very cheap and easy to change, if you're mechanically inclined.

Getting into the cabinet is a matter of two screws, two clips, a wiring disconnect, and enough space to tilt the cabinet off the base of the unit and set it aside.

Once inside, you'll see the pump in the front, mounted on the motor. The pump is held on with 2 clips, and can be swung aside without disconnecting the hoses. The motor is held on by 2 clips and 2 screws, and has one wiring plug. Once it's out, you can see the coupler, which probably has had the pins sheared off the plates, and some rubber remnants. Carefully pry off and replace all the parts, being careful to align the pins when re-installing the motor.

Re-assembly is the reverse of dis-assembly. You can test with the cabinet off if you place a small jumper wire across the pins of the plug that hooks into the cabinet for the lid switch.

You have a faulty actuator on the bottom of the transmission that will need to be replaced. Here is the part to order.

My whirlpool wtw4950xw2 top loader washing machine sounds like a jet taking off during spin cycle ... How can I fix it ?

You can unbalance the load more to get a quieter spin, but otherwise you may have a worn out gear system that produces more noise than the spinning tub itself. Check with service to determine the exact cause of the noise.

Filled but wont spin. brand new model wtw4950x

Sounds like a bad safety switch / lid switch. These new machines have magnetic proximity switches used on the lid to make sure the lid is closed before the machine will spin or cycle. Part is usually around 25.00 at appliance parts house for walk in customers. You would need someone familiar with electricity to replace it as it deals with 120 volts.

Lid is not locking properly, washer sensor is overfilling, and the washer wont spin

Check door switch: If the lid switch is bad it will not drain or spin. Try this test: With lid open let it finish wash cycle. Press lid switch down with screwdriver. Washer should begin draining. Release switch. Motor should stop. Press switch a second time. Washer should start spinning as it continues to drain. If motor doesn't come on while lid switch is pressed, replace the switch. OR

Whirlpool WTW4950XW Washer won't go past the sensing cycle.

It may be as simple as a defective door switch or even a clogged drain hose (the hose between the tub and drain pump. Here are some videos that may help you more than i can. This guy knows:
